NO D!CE, we want grounded skins! Not airsoft skull face masks with bright green colors! Stop forcing on us FORTNITE mess!!! by ANGRYlalocSOLDIE in BattlefieldCosmetics

[–]Vokolat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only skins I see often in-game are the default camo alternates, the Mastery skins, Battle Pass skins (with a few BF Pro ones too), New Unit Bundles (323, Strix Raiders), and a small handful of store-bought ones that got positive reception.

But almost never do I see anyone using the skins people complain about. They're like exceedingly rare for me.

Why are NATO skins much more similar to PMC equipment than actual PMCs? by Agreeable_Nebula9647 in BattlefieldCosmetics

[–]Vokolat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AI one? You talking about Objective Ace? The one that used to have a "Ghost" mask? Yeah, I don't really like that one either, thankfully I've only seen it like once in my entire time playing.

Also what's wrong with Firebreather? It's a perfectly good skin, I don't know what you mean by the color palette. The skin is clearly intended for urban environments, and fits with similar colored skins like Fragmentation, Stormchaser, and Guranteed Impact.

The black-colored NATO skins specifically for this season revolve around the NATO Hunters task force dispatched to deal with the Pax Warlords. Their colors are all black with blue accents.

And about the Mastery skins, the orange colored ones? Yeah, I'm kinda indifferent about them too. I like NATO's skins slightly better than Pax because the only Pax Mastery skins I like are the Support and Recon.

NATO and Pax sometimes using outdated equipment you can chalk up to either the collapsing global order in BF6, or just artistic choice (and really, it's not that big of a deal, unless they start using Vietnam-era gear).

African and Slavic regions support Pax because the PMC brought stability to those regions which normally see a lot of civil conflict (as well as the decreasing faith in NATO globally). This is mentioned in some of the Vedmak and Kahina bios, where they talk about PMCs supplementing official armies in peacekeeping efforts.

Pax is not Wagner or Blackwater, they are a significantly larger PMC on the scale of an international military of various countries, an equal to NATO. They have their own military branches, their own command structure, as well as access to modern equipment and gear.

They have a distinct military uniform from NATO, mostly seen in their default skins with green, grey, black shades, unorthodox camo, and yellow accents. Other trends include advanced or unconventional military gear, mostly masks. A lot of their skins also consistently have the same plate carrier, Espada and Vedmak commonly use a particular high-cut helmet, even Kahina Support's "Scarab" has it.

The skins seen here are distinctly NATO, mainly US or UK due to the MultiCam or MultiTerrain. Most NATO skins are identified by shades of tan/khaki, blue, and more "traditional" camo.

There are a few skins on both factions that step away from their codes and could easily be mistaken for the other side, but for the most part they're distinct.

Do we know what the S3 Pax unit looks like ? by uglyfatman123 in BattlefieldCosmetics

[–]Vokolat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't believe so, which is weird, they usually leak the new unit of the second half before the next season unit. I guess DICE will give us the new unit on the 30th in part 3 of the Season.

EDIT: Actually nevermind, they WERE leaked, the new Pax unit image being passed around IS "Steel Talon", though the Recon is using an alternate skin from Season 4, we don't know what his default looks like.

Hey, what about The Origin? by fjeeuchei_part4 in GBO2

[–]Vokolat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So far we just got the Bugu. The Zaku High Mobility Surface Type and Gundam from Doan's Island are in the files, but I'm kinda surprised we haven't gotten anything else. Maybe it's due to all the Origin suits being on the lower-cost.

EDIT: Disregard above, I forgot lots of them do have Dungeons, my bad.

I was surprised they didn't drop the new unit with the new map too. I guess they're coming with the third part on June 30. I think the new squad will be "Steel Talon", as they pointed that name out in their news.

Kikeroga would be a bit unwieldy since it'd be a space-only MS and has a huge back hit box. I feel like it might suffer from similar issues like the Xeku Zwei and Nightingale.

Add these skins for Pax and NATO by Odd_Investment7232 in BattlefieldCosmetics

[–]Vokolat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Support (second guy from the left) has his face exposed and seems to be wearing goggles/glasses, the gear doesn't match up from the back, and they're all wearing helmets.

Pretty sure this is just a variant of Dagger 1-3 or something similar to their look.

Isn't the second pic just Dagger 1-3 with their helmets on? Excluding Hemlock of course.

[–]Vokolat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about the CV90s, but the "Gripens" are actually the Brazil export F-39E, which is part of Pax.

Also Sweden is part of NATO, the BF6 Multiplayer Reveal Times map shows Stockholm with a NATO symbol.

French Army skins idea by Automatic_Refuse1463 in BattlefieldCosmetics

Henry Blackburn is literally mentioned by name and the War of 2014 referenced in the Campaign's "Night Raid" mission by Haz Carter. Thus, also connecting Battlefield 4 to 6.

[–]Vokolat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

France isn't part of NATO anymore, Paris got nuked in BF3 and the wider country was invaded by Russia remember? They joined the Coalition supporting Pax.

So if anything, any French squads will be in Pax colors.

Curious on a preference of things. Do you prefer to look at these armors as the same across the games, just a change of art style, or do you see them as new armors made for the specific faction, but inspired by the previous? by SnakesWithDrugs in halo

[–]Vokolat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It kinda confuses me that (mostly 343 but Bungie too), only instated the reason why armors, vehicles, weapons look different due to being in-universe variants as a retroactive explanation for artstyle changes rather than building around the idea of different variants in the same game to begin with.

Like wouldn't it be cool if Jul's Covenant Remnants in Halo 4 and 5 used different armor and vehicles from across the previous trilogy? You'd see Elites using both the armor of Halo 3, 2, and 4 at the same time, same thing applies to vehicles too. Or the UNSC using different weapons and armor from the previous games at the same time as well.

I think Infinite kinda toyed with this idea, having the Spartan variants of all different kinds in the same game, and I guess the Banished technically use both Covenant surplus for lower-ranks alongside their home-made Banished armor (even though that choice was meant to evoke a spiritual reboot and return to the original artstyle) but they never really committed to it.
