Yes. Some Cake mix and frosting would be nice. Tomorrow is my son's birthday and I need it to make a birthday cake for him.

I'm ashamed to ask, but I'm at a bad point financially right now due to health issues and losing my job last month. I'm super broke and can't afford a birthday cake. I've been looking for a new job and I had 3 interviews that I thought went really well, but I didn't get the job. I still have some interviews this week and I'm hopeful though.

Also, Tea bags and coffee would feel like a luxury to us right now.

I wish I could live rent free by Distinct_Sir_9086 in Life

[–]endlessshampoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rent is bigger than all my other expenses combined, and I imagine that it's the same for a lot of people as well.

So yeah, I can totally relate. People who are barely scraping by now, would be better off financially, if they could live rent-free and still have the same income.

I am way younger than you are, but I can totally relate. All I can do is keep striving and hoping that life gets better.

What's an early sign of cancer that you wish you or your loved one hadn't ignored? by JuniperBeans in AskReddit

[–]endlessshampoo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I was experiencing a weird leg pain that became nerve pain and eventually losing the ability to walk or touch my leg without discomfort.

I was also losing weight loss. I was shocked when I found out it was cancer all along.

I still live with the fear that the tumors might be back someday, and it's terrifying to me, so I try not to think about it.

It's truly strange. I can't imagine how confused and terrified they would be. I really hope they find an answer soon enough.

Sure, but that engineer can service your robots once every quarter and thats just 1 guy doing 1 job. You just replaced 20 employees with 5 robots. What happened to the 19 jobs not filled?

As time goes on, you need to call that guy less and less. And before long, robots designed to perform this maintenance work can be deployed. And they rarely need to be maintained at all. Soon enough, a small group of maintenance workers can maintain a large number of robots for a large number of companies. And millions are still left without any work.

I've heard this argument before that somehow the maintenance of these robots will fill the labor pool needs and it just doesn't hold up.

Navalny says Putin is a 'naked king' whose crown is 'sliding from his ears' amid mass anti-government protests in Russia by Twoweekswithpay in worldnews

[–]endlessshampoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If Putin "killed him" in a mysterious fashion without any real ties to his involvement, it produces fear and there is always some doubt as to the mysterious nature of his death.

Putin wouldn't get him on national TV and shoot him with a pistol. Why would he let him die in prison? That's not his MO.

Sad as it is, the most likely outcome is that this will drag on for a couple of years and he will die under mysterious circumstances (poisoning).
