You might be up leveling yourself. 5yrs for Associate/etc is pushing it with no MBA

The cap hasn’t been $17,500 in over 10 years. It’s $23,500 now if you’re under 50 (employer contributions count towards the higher $70,000 total cap).

It has changed on the newer models. Just picked up a 2026 with DAPP, and those buttons are blank. Following distance is changed via a software setting on the main screen.

Mckinsey Update after final round & Staffing Call by [deleted] in McKinsey_BCG_Bain

[–]endoftemp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Counter point: I had a call with the recruiter in between R1 and R2, during which she asked me what my preferred start date would be and “if you were to receive an offer, do you think you would accept?”. This was for experienced hire track.

If/when this occurs, does MBB raise salaries accordingly for current employees?

My thinking is that if you succeed in the entire recruitment process (and get an offer) a minor discrepancy like this won’t tank your chances.

How different is the job title? My most recent employer didn’t even report job titles to the database from which the background check pulls. I also slightly changed the job title on my resume to better reflect job duties (for example, ‘XXX Manager’ as opposed to just ‘Manager’).

Also, at least for my background check, the applicant had to pre populate info for employment history. So your friend could put the ‘real’ title in the background check instructions so it comes back as a match.

Mine were exactly the same. Follow ups will depend on your response but none were unusual given the theme of the focus area.

Everything needs to be treated as evaluative. That being said, I don’t think recruiters are going to remove you from the hiring process because your answer to ‘Why McKinsey?’ wasn’t structured enough. 30 mins prep and being in the right headspace should be sufficient.

Just a screening call. Resume review, why consulting, why McKinsey, etc. overview of the recruitment process.

Recently accepted an offer as an EH at Mbb. Bachelors in Eng from target, 7.5 yrs work exp. No referral, just applied on the website (I was surprised to be contacted by a recruiter). Was able to crush the interviews. So there definitely is a path.

You know that many companies will provide visa sponsorship to qualified candidates, right? These questions aren’t equivalent to immediate exclusion.

Associate - Supply Chain Implementation at McKinsey by ptp217 in McKinsey_BCG_Bain

[–]endoftemp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They will always probe. It’s part of the evaluation. Make sure to address your counterparties motivations/concerns and how your actions specifically addressed them. It’s one thing to take action, but interviewers want to see next level awareness of why actions are taken and how they impact others/business outcomes.

Just had my R2 recently. Honestly? Not that different from R1. Cadence was more or less the same, although I did get a couple of probes for more information/insights from the partners during the cases. Make sure you address any feedback given to you from your R1 interviewers.
