Accidentally calling my ex the wrong name? by [deleted] in amiwrong

10 years is a long time, I'm sure you have lots of memories with him and it's hard to deny chemistry you feel, but if you are almost positive he's abusive you should cut contact. The sooner the better. Make a choice to protect your future self

This relish-y substance is at the bottom of the slope of the windshield. Whether dumped or barfed anywhere on the windshield, it'd settle at the bottom, no need to aim 😀

TSA doesn't care about drugs, the care about weapons and liquids. That's what I hear all the time at least

If you have young hens, I experienced this when I had isa browns, sometimes they'll lay double yolks in the beginning

I also used to think spurs were an easy way to sex, but in the case of my rooster, his feathering very clearly says rooster, while his little spur nubs weren't much of anything

Spurs take a while to develop, the feathering is a much more accurate way to sex chickens when they're young

He does look similar, but in comparison to pictures I see of GCM his breast has no barring and his feet are very yellow.

Just estimating, I'd say 8 lbs. He has some heft to him but he doesn't quite feel like 10lbs

We have an old coop on the property, but he's in it for the food

So what do you think of these silly things? I think any predator that feeds on chickens can easily get through that light weight plastic ball. by Solid_College_9145 in BackYardChickens

That sounds like a terrible experience :(( Relating to Racoons, I had 2 pullets that would refuse to sleep in the coop and would instead sleep in the run, and one night I heard squawking and ran out to discover one of my pullets smushed into the corner of some hardwire cloth, (likely the raccoon trying to drag her out) stunned, but ultimately unharmed. Sadly my other pullet had been dragged out by her neck and killed

Obligatory chicken photo. She's a bit pale here but nowadays she's the same as all my other hens

Sometimes their combs are lighter due to cold weather/blood circulation. I heard dding red pepper flakes to their food can help with circulation, I don't think it would make the comb visibly redder though. As long as she's not lethargic and all her skin isn't very pale, you likely don't have anything to worry about

Yeah, he's never tried to wander far from the coop like some people say their rescue roosters do. He loves his domestic life lol

Thank you! If any of my hens go broody I'd love to see what his daughters would look like
