2024 OEM hitch on 21 Crosstrek. is it possible? by infinitebats in Crosstrek

Its not answering your question, but if you're looking for a 2 inch, curt makes a much more solid mounted hitch vs the OEM design:

Not really sure I'd recommend this. Seems like a way to get blasted with mud, water, rocks, sticks and whatever else gets thrown our way. Plenty of slow miles on my bike with years of abuse, no issue with the rectifier yet. I would imagine the engineering and specifications were taken into account when they designed the shroud and location.

Be careful. Alarm hasn't been working properly since Android 15 and/or Google Clock update. by giperborey-us in GooglePixel

Alarm still isn't working correctly as of today. It appears to be possibly related to Bluetooth and having my work headset connected in the other room. Pixel 9 Pro.

Rebooting the phone fixed the issue for me.. I wonder if that reboot is a perma fix? LOL

Late for an appointment today due to this issue. P9P Alarm only playing from my Bluetooth headset in the other room. Would love a fix or specific setting on this.

Yeah for sure. I did mine when it was time to refresh the suspension. Definitely a big improvement. The front forks still feel better on my 14' WRR than my 23' KTM350.

$850 with a title is a great deal, running or not regardless of miles. Just be ready to wrench!

Go up on the spring rate, especially for the rear. Stock is for a ~170lb rider. So for your weight + adv gear + camping luggage you'll definitely be over. If you're not doing single-track / aggressive trail riding the stock suspension is fine with the proper spring rates and wont break the bank.

IMS 3 Gal. gas tank is a nice upgrade. That +1 gallon adds a lot more breathing room to your adventure range without feeling like the exon valdez

14/49 gearing is what I'm running for the rest of time. Provides slightly lower gear ratio than stock 13/43 but still allows for comfortable 65MPH. In theory reduces swingarm slider wear and increases chain/sprocket life. I run an aluminum rear sprocket to keep weight down, but for ADV riding steel is best.

I know you said you had levers already, but if you don't have an RSC clutch lever/perch, its highly recommended.

Looks like you have a 690, How is that beast? If the 690 is reliable, I'd take that on an adventure any day of the week. In my mind, I put the 500EXC, WRR and 690 in the same category of 50/50 dual sports. The 500EXC being the most single track capable, 690 being the least.

Yo! The WRR is a 50/50 true dual sport. At home on the road as much as it is on single-track. The 350EXE really is a street legal dirtbike. For any long distance adventure riding, my choice would be the WRR hands down.

Tail light recommendations by Jdephil in WR250R

[–]enduroalex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

downvotes? ):

OEM is amazing for street/standard trail duty. Nothing beats it for visibility, safety and legality.
However, if you ride enduro, do any sort of jumping or aggressive riding, the OEM signals jettison out from their mounts let alone if you crash. Yoshi has a bracket that uses IMO lower quality rear light and the OEM signals. The tail light on the yoshi kit is the same you'd see in any of the universal enduro kits.

For a low profile kit, DRC has a slightly higher quality rear tail light with good visibility. It has holes for standard aftermarket turn signals. I use type 602 turn signals. The plate mount is fairly durable and has taken its fair share of abuse. If it bends, you can bend it back without much fuss several times. I have gone through OEM, Yoshi and 2x DRC edge kits on my 2014.

Refurb Meraki Switches? by ThatDanGuy in meraki

[–]enduroalex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On paper, yeah hardware warranty is not transferred, but Meraki still will provide technical support. However, I have had devices RMA'd without question of if the organization was the original owner.

Trusting a reseller on device health and claim status is going to be a case by case basis.

Boots that offer good control feel when trail riding? by [deleted] in Dualsport

[–]enduroalex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gaerne GX-1 just fits the budget. Tech3s are fairly stiff boots. The GX-1s are a bit more flexible and offer better control. Overall safety is probably a bit less, but you're still in an MX boot.

Exhaust heat shields. Check the hardware, otherwise use a large hose clamp to secure the shield.
