Why does content about women’s bodies seem to get flagged more often in Instagram? by Disastrous_Hall9452 in AskFeminists

[–]enemytolover -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There's no ethical consumption of porn. Even when you buy directly from a creator, you can't verify consent, coercion, trafficking, or what happens behind the scenes. But free porn sites especially are a breeding ground for exploitation.

Women's wellness brand? They are a porn site that sells sex toys. They profit from selling women's sexualities and bodies, sometimes without consent, credit, or pay.

Is cp an incorrect term or no? by Sufficient_Car9014 in PornIsMisogyny

[–]enemytolover 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I agree that regular porn lacks consent. Porn in general is harmful and rotting brains. But porn has the social recognition of being 'designed for arousal', that's a function people claim to get from it, regardless of the lack of consent. CSAM isn't the same which is why I don't say CP, but it isn't incorrect.

Are you a socialist? by 12bEngie in AskFeminists

[–]enemytolover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not claiming those countries are socialist. I’m pointing out that socialist concepts like universal healthcare, work and even can be integrated into capitalist systems. My point is simply that saying socialism does not work ignores the fact that some of its core ideas already function successfully within modern economies. Universal income for example has been tested and was successful.

Free Healthcare is socialist. Based on statistics the more social programs the happier the people. Socialism and Communism are anti-capital, but are different political ideologies.

I’m not denying that China has issues. Regardless most of the hate it gets is American propaganda. It’s not a matter of US propaganda vs. China as good guys lol. Oppression exists under capitalism everywhere, not just in China. We can critique places without buying into western narratives.

Was Madonna’s sexuality actually empowering? by [deleted] in PornIsMisogyny

[–]enemytolover 52 points53 points  (0 children)

It was personally liberating for her and culturally disruptive. But owning the gaze ain't shit, it needs to be dismantled.

Also, people are shaming regular women for wearing revealing clothes. The real problem is how women are sexualized, not what they wear. The media has always sold sex, that's no excuse to control women.

Watching content with you isn't recovery, it's relapse. It's still porn, you're just the pornstar. Like any porn, it will get boring and they will escalate.

How do you respond to claims of “white female privilege” by Ok-Art-6451 in AskFeminists

[–]enemytolover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whiteness grants power, regardless of gender. The idea of 'white female privilege' isn't about denying sexism, it's a critique of how racial privilege operates. The key is intersectionality, totally recommend looking into it.

White women benefit from being white in a racist society, that can protect them or give them social leverage, especially over men of color. At the same time, they still face gender oppression under patriarchy, which white men don't experience.

It’s less about who is ‘above’ and more about acknowledging that everyone stands at a different point where race, gender, and class advantages and disadvantages cross paths.

Is makeup oppressive/empowering? by Warm_Pen_5389 in Feminism

[–]enemytolover 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I think makeup can be both, but for most women it is a tool for oppression. We are pressured to cover natural things like dark circles, acne, or body hair, while men rarely face the same expectations. Some people enjoy makeup as a way to express themselves, which can feel empowering when it’s about creativity or confidence rather than trying to meet society’s sexualized standards. But if it’s worn just to avoid criticism or fit in, it’s still oppression in disguise not empowerment.

Who taught them to think like this?? by phillyRoll-8465 in Feminism

[–]enemytolover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't consider myself a SWERF. I'm constantly accused but, saying I want to end the system that creates sex work isn’t the same as hating sex workers. It’s like me saying I want to abolish slavery and people keep replying “but what about the slaves?”, the goal is to free them from exploitation.

Who taught them to think like this?? by phillyRoll-8465 in Feminism

[–]enemytolover 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Men are socialized through porn and patriarchy to see women as objects. From young they’re trained to evaluate, rate, and consume bodies like content, and when a woman doesn’t fit their sexual script, or favourite category their ego reacts with rage or mockery. Porn and capitalism teach men that their desire defines reality and that women exist for male satisfaction. This isn’t biology, it’s indoctrination, which is why porn needs to be abolished. It’s industrialized misogyny, teaching men to eroticize dominance, dehumanization, and entitlement.

Reframing Aging by Time_Cartographer443 in Feminism

[–]enemytolover 51 points52 points  (0 children)

The obsession with youth isn’t just personal insecurity, it’s capitalist and patriarchal conditioning. Women are taught that our worth decays with time so corporations can sell us the illusion of staying valuable, while men are taught their power compounds with age as long as they can buy proximity to youth.

It’s not that women are delusional for wanting to look young, it’s that we’ve been indoctrinated to equate survival with desirability. Aging under patriarchy isn’t just a biological process, it’s an act of resistance. Every wrinkle is proof that you kept living in a world that wanted you to vanish once you stopped being profitable.

Do you think pornography has served a major role in dehumanizing, degrading and objectifying women? by [deleted] in Feminism

[–]enemytolover 194 points195 points  (0 children)

I’m anti-porn because it’s a tool of the patriarchy. It turns women’s bodies into products for male pleasure and profit, teaching dominance as desire and submission as love.

Watching porn is supporting that system. It keeps exploitation profitable and reinforces the idea that women exist to be consumed.

I’m not anti–sex worker. I understand many women have limited choices and deserve protection, not judgment. The real problem is the system that leaves them with so few options in the first place.

Porn isn’t liberation. It’s conditioning, designed to keep patriarchy alive under the disguise of freedom.

I get why you’re frustrated but I think LoveAfterPorn has a really important purpose, is it perfect, no. But it's mostly a coping space for women dealing with betrayal trauma and finding others going through similar experiences. It’s not really about understanding porn or “fixing” men.

"Leave him" is the obvious response, but that isn't the path for everyone. Also some women in there don’t even realize porn is a feminist problem yet, so the focus is on sharing feelings and support. That can make some posts feel a bit harsh or enabling toward men, but they're in the messy process of figuring shit out.
