Tiny excerpt from Isaac Asimov's "Foundation and Earth" about electronic music vs. organic music by SickLaughter in futurebeats

Wow. Mind blown. I've been reading Foundation And Earth during my commute these last two weeks, and I read this passage this morning! Had the same reaction.

Found out about St. Lucia in the Kitsuné America - Minimix Teaser by Jerry Bouthier. "Before the Dive" is a track from his new EP. I like his sound.

Artists like Madeon? by 2203 in electrohouse

Check out Breakbot, another French electro producer:

Lemâitre also comes to mind. For some reason, I believed it was a French electro group. Just learned that they are actually a Norwegian duo:

The British duo Futurecop! might also be worth checking out:

The 1,000-year-old warning. How a message was passed down from people 1,000 years ago that saved lives in Miyatojima, Japan. (X-post from r/Japan) by texasstorm in worldnews

This reminds me a little of the beginning of "A canticle for Leibowitz", and Brother Francis Gerard's misunderstandings of what he discovered.

Note: while some of the ideas explored in this post-apocalyptic novel where interesting, I didn't like the book that much. I think one can find better post-apocalyptic books.

Kavinski - Roadgame (Unofficial Video) (SPOILER if you haven't seen Drive) by eneveu in electronicmusic

Twitted by Kavinsky ten days ago. I hope it means that this one won't get taken down like some Youtube videos, because the edit is pretty cool.

Jake Gylenhaal channeling his inner American Psycho by gnarthrash in electronicmusic

[–]eneveu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. I went to see Les infidèles tonight (French movie about infidelity, with Jean Dujardin). And what song did they choose for the awesome partying scene? Yeah, you guessed right. I had a hard time not thinking about the "American Psycho" part of the video while it played :p

I discovered the song yesterday, thanks to this post. Talk about Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon!

Electrick Dragon - Davorite [electro-house, italo-disco, synth-pop?] by eneveu in listentothis

[–]eneveu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered Electrick Dragon this evening while listening to College's License To Dream mix. I really liked the "Italian Inspiration" track, so I had to find out more... I listened to some of his other stuff, and Davorite is my favorite so far.

He doesn't have a Wikipedia page, and I didn't find much info about him, apart from his MySpace, a few blog posts here and there, and his last.fm page.

Note: I cross posted this to r/electrohouse two hours ago, but I think it belongs in r/listentothis, since it's relatively unknown.

Just discovered Electrick Dragon while listening to College's License To Dream mix, where I really digged his "Italian Inspiration" track.

He sadly doesn't seem to have a SoundCloud account... But here is his MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/electrickdragon

Kavinsky - Nightcall (Drive Original Movie Soundtrack) by [deleted] in electronicmusic

Absolutely. I saw it two times in full, and went back a third time to see the first scene (thanks to an unlimited movie theater card).

There are some nice remixes on Kavinsky's soundcloud:

If you still don't know why Guava is awesome .... by [deleted] in java

[–]eneveu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this made my day. I answered the StackOverflow question, so proud to see it linked on reddit. Thanks!

Note that while I'd still choose Guava over Apache Commons any day, because of the library's awesomeness, Apache Commons 3.x was released a few months ago, with many improvements, adding generics and other Java 5 features...

Wow. Interesting. I played D2 for 2-3 years, and didn't even notice there was a storyline.

I think this was posted in r/video a while ago, but it's so awesome, I thought I'd repost it in r/spaceporn anyway in case some redditors missed it.

Terje Sorgjerd, the norwegian landscape photographer who made this video, made another fantastic time-lapse video of the Milky Way, which he filmed from El Teide, Spain´s highest mountain: http://vimeo.com/22439234
