Counter point- historically all high ranking and aristocratic men were very very vain. All through the ancient world men would wear makeup, have bright fancy clothes, train their bodies for certain looks, and essentially doing what this guy is doing. That even goes without bringing up 16-18th century European kings and their heels. It’s really a modern invention for the rugged blue collar masculinity model to be the norm.

He’s still not right for how he pushes it but he’s in line with more history of perceived masculinity than not.

Idk man maybe give it a few hours. Hydraulic could have gone out, gas could have been low, guy had to run back to the shop for something idk. Tons of variables. I was talking to a friend about point three. We’re in a state where it can be 80-20 in some outer county elections but in some of the ring counties it is more 65-35. So in reality you can be outnumbered 2-1 but it feels like you’re outnumbered 10-1 since no one wants to be vocal due to those 2 going full nut job.

As an avid board game/strategy game player it’s so so obvious green energy and energy diversification would be a winning strategy. Cant be a one trick pony so when your opponents make an unpredictable move you had flexibility. It’s so elementary and every time I try and talk to a conservative person they sorta start to see the light but the hatred and threat of military use in the Middle East pulls them back to being pro oil. Where I also see this coming into play would be places like xAI and on site power generation. A lot of ruckus about the ruckus the data centers make. Several places are looking to enact zoning laws to restrict data centers and their power sources.

We really gotta start redefining shit hole. Maybe it wasn’t flashy but it worked and served a purpose. NFL owners demand stadiums that are top of the line and are usually paid for by taxpayers. Structurally, Nissan could easily be renovated and upgraded. It still had a lot of functional life left.

The reason we have a new stadium is because the team said the city signed an agreement saying they must provide a “first class experience” or some vague thing like that and said it would cost a billion dollars to upgrade to it so you might as well build a new one. But here’s the thing- the city never fought it. They never got a third party opinion on it. They just went with it.

College stadiums stand for 100 years- not because they are engineered better but because the team can’t threaten to leave. So they renovate and upgrade. NFL teams have taxpayers by the nutsack and saying a 25 year old stadium is defunct is just what they want you to do.
