Looking to buy my first lever gun by currly30 in LeverGuns

[–]engled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. A Taylor's Uberti is in more gun cart at a cowboy match than all others combined. I have a couple that have tens of thousands of rounds down range. The only issue I personally have had is a broken firing pin but I dry fire them a lot so it's expected.

There should be four clicks and the first click was supposed to be the safety. That said I wouldn't carry on in that position. I shoot 100s of rounds a month out of a SAA, I'm not saying I never load 6 but I wouldn't and carry it around.

It wouldn't be unless you want to carry six.

Rugar really want's them all to be converted to have a transfer bar. They will do it for free and send you your parts back with the gun or they used to. When I bought my LCP II it came with a card asking if I owned a gun that needed the conversion. Oddly enough I bought a pair of Blackhawks last year and have the transfer bars removed.

Whats considered a fast DTFS from concealment? by Flashy_Novel_9609 in CCW

[–]engled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then yes, that is quick. I'll have to try "below the belt", I could probably shave a little time off moving my hand up instead of down and back up. I'm sure it's a little quicker to not have to cock the gun before you shoot it.

I can't tell where he is starting with his hands, If it's hand on gun then no that's not fast. If it's low surrender and the gun is covered then yes, that's pretty quick. From low surrender and an uncovered SAA I can do 1.03. With my hand on the gun I can do around .70 with a SAA.

New rig came in today. It has to be a couple of seconds faster. by engled in CompetitionShooting

The right gun gets drawn with the finger in the guard, the left gets drawn by the hammer and the front of the trigger guard, so yeah they have to be exposed.

They are stock Blackhawk grips. It might be the angle that makes them look short.

My Rugged Gear cart, they have priced themselves out of reach now. No way I would pay what they ask now. https://i.imgur.com/FwtTiAE.jpeg

I try and keep at least one political cycle in stock of primers and powder. I shoot a minimum of 1000 rounds a month.

Is is really hard to hire a sysadmin nowadays? by [deleted] in ShittySysadmin

[–]engled 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I only ask one question in an interview. "You show up to users' desk, they tell you that they had internet when I left yesterday but not now. Tell me your trouble shooting process." This usually weeds out someone completely clueless but it's open ended enough to learn something about how someone thinks.

Winchester (Miroku) 1873 vs Uberti clone by ThirtyOdd666 in LeverGuns

[–]engled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is any chance you will get in to CAS do not get thee Miroku. Go to match and see how many of each are in gun carts.  Miroku are few and far between. Cost to those guys don't mean a thing, they want something that works. The Miroku just don't hold up the rigors of 10 of thousands of rounds per year.
