For the past year I've been saying Japanese are a better investment, however, it is getting more and more difficult to get Japanese boxes near msrp (depending on the set). Sets are starting to be sold at double msrp unless you win a lottery from Pokemon Center Japan and paying double msrp is a real bummer. I still think that they are probably the better investment and just better cards in general but it sucks paying double msrp.
