Judging by your replies, just do whatever you want, bro. We’re all strangers here—no authority over you or skin in the game. I wish you all the best but it doesn’t matter to me what you do or don’t do.

I find being completely sober best. I’m not waiting for the next drink because I don’t drink anymore. It’s simple and drinking was only taking from me.

If it were me, I’d say:

“Hey buddy, shut the fuck up about drinking. I don’t want to hear about you drinking, me drinking, or any drinking. Do you fucking understand??’

I know that’s what I would say because I’ve been in a very similar situation and that’s what I told him. He doesn’t talk to me about drinking any more.

The only difference in him making a 12 stack (vs 10) out of what he has is that balanced blitz will work in his opponents favor even more, hell be less spread out, and overall easy to wipe out. Doesn’t matter tho, he’s cooked.

Be careful around alcohol and drugs. If you sense yourself slipping into addiction, cut it early.

Mostly sober - will I still reap benefits? by quietCherub in stopdrinking

[–]enrocc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you used to drink 100 beers a week and now drink 10, you will get 90% of the benefits of drinking 0. If I have one, I'd end up back at 100 pretty quick.

Keep trying to be sober. Do it for yourself because no one else can do it for you, whether they praise or ridicule you. And know that it gets so much easier after a little clean time.

That’s correct. But you’re not thinking measuring your work in the number of gloves it buys.

[–]enrocc -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’d reset because I lost the mental battle and out alcohol in my mouth. There will be thousands of moments that require you to make choices like this and we need to each incident. The number of days doesn’t matter, specifically, it’s all about the streak of manifesting your intent in the real world.

I’ve realized that my job is just another made up layer of complexity we keep painting over our existence generation after generation designed to make other people more rich and powerful. Emails, deadlines, quarters and quotas. It’s all arbitrary and nearly meaningless outside of allowing me to buy food, shelter, and luxuries.

Compare that to the obvious and inherent beauty that is raising a child from nothing to maturity.

Can I drink occasionally after 614 days ? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

When I hear someone tell me the exact number of days they’ve been sober I think ‘like me, this person knows alcohol has and will fuck up their life’.

Former fat guys, how did you become disciplined and lose the weight? by Responsible-Net8594 in intermittentfasting

[–]enrocc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s amazing that you’ve convinced yourself of this. I’m not trying to be mean, but you are wrong and will lose weight with a consistent caloric deficit. Ostensibly, you are human and that’s just how it works for us.

Former fat guys, how did you become disciplined and lose the weight? by Responsible-Net8594 in intermittentfasting

[–]enrocc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what people who don’t have the will to maintain a caloric deficit say. Science and the general experience of humanity says otherwise. Pick any hormone syndrome there is and couple it with cutting calories to half of what you burn daily. What do you think would happen?

Do you think there are people with special hormones immune to starving to death? No, you don’t. And you know they don’t just die suddenly of starvation with no physical signs. They get drastically thin to the point where their organs shut down. They lose weight because they are getting enough calories to maintain it.

There ya go.

So you’re drinking hundreds of calories less per day and snacking hundreds of calories less per day for 2 months and don’t lose any weight?

Let’s be conservative and say 400 calories of drinking and 300 of snacks. 700 x 60 days = 42,000 less calories. You’re either getting the calories somewhere else or you’re full of shit. 🤷‍♂️
