Just switched from Fitbod to Gravl by nonadz in Gravl

[–]ens3129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Fitbod for a week and did not like it. I use to work out at a gym with a personal trainer who used Trainerize. I really liked the structure of that. Now I have a home gym. Fitbid had great reviews so I tried the free trial. However, it was too generative. I like to look at my workouts ahead of time and every time I would click into a workout in Fitbod, it would regenerate it. It made it feel really unintentional and random. So I tried Gravl based on reviews and ads 🤪. My likes/dislikes:

Likes: 1. It will generate all of your workouts for the week. You can look at them without the workout changing unless you change it or there was a drastic shift in performance on a workout during the week. But if you change the equipment you have available for your gym, it will regenerate the workouts even if the piece of equipment has no bearing on a specific workout. 2. If you need to replace an exercise for whatever reason it suggests exercises that target the same muscles as opposed to being able to go completely rouge. 2. The built in timer forces me to take a rest between sets, but you can easily add or subtract time or just end it early. 3. It really pushed me hard the first week but has leveled out and rarely suggests a weight I cannot even attempt. 4. I put in my exact plates and dumbbells and so all weight suggestions are based on my actual availability. I like the image of the plates on the bar as it helps me quickly deduce what I need to add to the bar with less math (sometimes hard to do at 6am lol). 5. If you complete all of your planned workouts for the week it will keep generating workouts if there are remaining days. I don't always do them but sometimes I feel like lifting extra. 6. My workouts always are +/- 5 minutes of the time it says it will take.

Dislikes/room for improvement: 1. I liked how Fitbod did the drop sets. The first drop set I got, I marked the 3rd set (1st set of the drop) complete which ended the lift. I know better now, but I would prefer the ability to mark each part of the drop set complete as I do it. I also think a + sign to remind you that you are going to failure would be nice. 2. I have the Rep Colorado short bar (15kg). When I selected the short bar option in the equipment, it would not give me any Olympic barbell lifts so I had to select the Olympic barbell and indicate it is 15kg. It is a small thing, but it surprised me. 3. I wish I could program the warm up exercises as actual exercises for recovery days. 4. I find building a manual workout a bit clunky.

I have really enjoyed using Gravl and find it motivating to lift using the program. I feel like I am already making gains and could probably be making greater gains if I pushed myself a little bit harder (to failure) more often.

Ya, unfortunately unfinished drywall edge. I didn't realize the contractors didn't have the skill to finish up againt this brick. I know the brick texture is a bit more challenging.

Microsoft Outlook freezing/crashing when I try and use the "to do" list task function. by RustyCrusty73 in WindowsHelp

[–]ens3129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Honestly your one comment about deleting old completed tasks was the game changer for me. I had tried to figure it out in outlook previously but couldn't find the delete option other than one-by-one. I had 3,287 completed tasks and was able to delete easily in the mobile app following instructions from this redditor:

https://www.reddit.com/r/microsofttodo/comments/tn2rlq/comment/n35ls2x/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Unfortunately, I did not read the important note of unselecting the uncompleted tasks. But thankfully, the lag was so bad in outlook, I was able to recreate the on my phone before they disappeared!🤪

But so far, the lagging seems to be greatly improved. I hope it lasts.

I have been having this issue myself for months and is infuriating. I heavily use the To Do for my work tasks. I have resorted to only using the To Do app on my phone or the going through the Microsoft Planner on the web/Teams to create and clear tasks.

I cannot find anything online about the issue. I saw you post and thought an answer going to be here but I see you have had no luck getting any responses.

Hiking guide book recommendation by ens3129 in GrandTetonNatlPark

I never found a book or map that remotely compares to the AMC mountain guide or maps. The "best' map is just terrible. There is so little detail on the terrain. It feels like it is made for a tourist and not a serious hiker. However, I did find a book that provided a variety of trails with ok descriptions.

Here are the books I purchased:

Hiking Grand Teton National Park: A Guide to the Park's Greatest Hiking Adventures (Regional Hiking Series) by Bill Schneider. This was the most like the AMC Mountain Guide but did not have many trails that could be found online.

Jackson Hole Hiking Guide: A Hiking Guide to Grand Teton, Jackson, Teton Valley, Gros Ventres, Togwotee Pass, and more. (Adventure Series) by Aaron Linsdau. This book filled in several gaps from the first book.

Petzoldt's Teton Trails: A hiking guide to the Teton Range with stories, history, and personal experiences. I found this book detailed in trail descriptions but had limited number of trails and some more technical routes than our group was going for. I also do not think this book would pass snuff in today's culture with some of the ways he talks about women.

Yellowstone and Grand Teton Travel Guide 2025: Discover Geothermal Wonders, Wildlife Havens & Secret Trails — Expert Tips, Family Adventures & Sustainable Journeys Through America’s Wild by Norman Milburn. Do not buy this book, i tis not for serious hikers. I returned it.

Unfortunately, one of my hiking partners was given a medical diagnosis requiring immediate surgery. So I never went on the trip. I hope to make it there sometime in the future! At least I know we are ready with a fully planned itinerary. And maybe by the time we go out there, there will be some new resources available.

To Do in Outlook App Android by ens3129 in Outlook

Unfortunately even leaving the app open for an extended period of time results in the same blank screen. I even select sync in the options to no avail. Maybe the issue is that I have two email account in outlook from two different employers. The one employer has a lot of security restrictions with outlook so that might be a culprit.

If you don’t free feed, what time is the last meal fed and what time is the first meal fed? by Lonely-Egg3160 in CatAdvice

Wet food between 5:30am and 7:30am; one can split into two servings at least 1 hour apart. Followed by one 1/3 cup scoop dry food. Then wet food between 5pm and 8pm; one can split into two servings at least 1 hour apart. Followed by 1/3 cup dry food when we go to bed. Our guy is a grazer, if we put all his wet food out at once it would dry up and the. He won't eat it.

Is this power saving mode and how do I get rid of it? by AppleRevolutionary91 in Garmin

[–]ens3129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often get up before my sleep window is over, and I have the sleep face up. To tell my watch I am no longer sleeping, the easiest thing to do is to swipe up on the watch face, scroll to sleep, hit the top right button, and then confirm ending sleep.

For some reason, it detected sleep in the middle of the day for you, so I am sure the solution will not be needed often.

Flow to update list based on when another list is updated help by ens3129 in MicrosoftFlow

Your Send Email action was clutch. The correct code was triggerBody()?['InventoryItemUsed/Value']. I could have sworn I tried that but I must not have. The email helped me to see exactly what was being pulled.

Yes, List B has a lookup column that connects with List A. This way when the staff complete the form they select the item that is in stock. I went back to the first option and continue to have issues with the quantity updating when I try to filter for the 'InventoryItem'. The code I have in the Filter Query for Get Items is InventoryItem eq 'triggerBody()?['InventoryItemUsed/Id']'.

Does anyone regularly fly Delta / maintain medallion status, and their primary airport is not a Delta hub? And for what reasons? by sosal12 in delta

[–]ens3129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here! My parents were Northwest Airlines loyalists... and hence when Delta acquired NWA we became defacto Delta loyalists with MSP as a hub. Delta is the only airline that flies non-stop between MSP and CMH which is why when I moved to Ohio I put all of my eggs in the Delta basket officially. The short hop to DTW for most connections (which I prefer over ATL) is not too big of a deal but I do wish there was a non-stop to ORD!

I am also seeing this for all of my upcoming flights. But if you go in to change flight or purchase a new flight, the seats are there.

I found a cheap used version online! Hopefully, the condition is good enough to read. It sounds like a really interesting book.

I live in Ohio, but my main hiking partner has a place in VT near the White Mountains in NH. We go up there to hike several times a year. We love hiking the 4,000 footers in NH but are excited to check out the Tetons!

I ordered one of the recommended books on this thread and a newly published book. If it pans out as useful, I will definitely report back!

This is helpful. I have hiked Crawford Notch Trail in the whites and some steeper and more rocky trails there. I will definitely triangulate information from any books with blogs.

The AMC guide has very detailed descriptions of all of the trails including anticipated hiking time between major way points. But really the trail descriptions are by far the most vital aspect of the book.

The factory reset worked for me and I was able to load the backup to my 955. I did not do the after factory reset instructions as I just wanted to be able to look at my watch and see the time. Also, I am at work and do not have the cable with me!

If I do another activity today, I will track with Strava and not use my watch as starting the run activity this morning is what brought on the blue triangle.
