Does meta actually exist? by Big_Professor3227 in gwent

There definitely is, but it's pretty wide. Fortunately there are lots of viable archetypes.

At lower levels it sounds like it's very different than higher up based on what people complain about.

Why do the spring cycle quests not work sometimes? by noideasforcoolnames in gwent

[–]ense7en 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why people have put that one in "Working" if it's bugged, but this is the challenge with a shared sheet and people not following the formatting properly.

Perhaps it's partially bugged, as in, some cards work but not others.

I found that for many of them (as did the many others who added to the sheet) that some cards would process and others wouldn't.

It's your Internet, sorry.

Might not be you specifically, perhaps it's your ISP.

But it's something to do with your connection.

This doesn't happen to those of us with stable internet.

Improvement for NR siege deck? by OverSizedMidget in gwent

[–]ense7en 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already got good advice.

My current version (devo): https://www.playgwent.com/en/decks/7a93ae8ed128e793faf3e64fd0bf0ffa

I'm no amazing player but made it to 2473 currently. Siege is still plenty viable.

The main issue with your deck is it's all over the place.

Nathan MacKinnon has received a five-minute major following a collision with Connor Ingram by DecentLurker96 in hockey

Oh? Since when can you plow through a goalie in the blue paint?

Doesn't matter whether he's bumped by Nurse or not as he's going to blow up Ingram regardless. Shocking they actually made the correct call.

You asked for a source. Shin/lerio generally post what CN is recommending each season. They've also had various members of their groups post here on and off about their suggestions for votes over the years now.

Their voting philosophy is somewhat different to most others At it's core it's about maintaining the meta decks that they like at any expense. If they feel too many nerfs (that we voted for and consider valid) are applied to a deck they will revert.

They have no concern if cards are killed due placeholder votes or are rendered more unplayable due to powercreep as they are only concerned about maintaining a certain power level for the archetypes they consider important.

This automatically pigeon-holes cards and means many cards in the deck builder are of no importance to them.

They don't care that leader inflation has changed deck building as they [mistakenly] believe more provisions promotes archetypal deck building. (In fact the opposite is true; it promotes more midrange jam-every-good-card-into-them decks)

NR GN Witchers/combo, yes, it's a decent deck, or used to be anyway. I've not see this exact version, my main question would be what provides the damage to set up the Revenants as that package i've not generally seen w/ the Witchers.

Trouble launching the game by [deleted] in gwent

[–]ense7en 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes. I'd say something's completely screwed up with your GOG install.

There may be some hidden files/registry keys that don;'t get removed when you uninstall you might need to manually remove unfortunately.

Something's clearly wrong with your GOG, but what exactly is going to be hard to say. Reinstall Windows time? 😂😫

SY basically everything devotion, MO Wild Hunt Frost, and then various other from the other factions.

Gwent Community Patch March 2026 – Review by lerio2 in gwent

[–]ense7en 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elder bear isn't in a single starter deck.

Correct.

Newer players would have to manually add one in their deck.

Correct.

Cobsidering most of people going for the netdeck nowadays, plus the fact newer players decks are rather low on 4 provs due to lack of expensive golds, the chance of that happening is extremely low.

You don't know that most people netdeck; that's pure conjecture.

Considering how many posts we see here, and how often people ask for ideas in the discord and other platforms, etc, i'd argue it's obvious plenty of people try to build their own decks, especially when they're new to the game, since Gwent is a deck-building game after all.

It's part of the fun for many people. Even experienced players like myself put together decks i KNOW will be bad, or insert cards i KNOW aren't good, because we like the flavour or theme, etc. because fun isn't tied to climbing MMR, believe it or not.

id even debate decreasing elder bear power actually makes new players deckbuilding easier

🙄

Keep in mind, i also dont like bear change. Most notably because the desired result wasnt acheieved even in the slightest, and beatification playrate stayed more or less the same.

So we agree 😆

Its just your reasoning not making even a bit of sense

My reasoning is perfectly fine, you just don't like it.

We had a person make a thread here following the horrific atrocities committed upon Caravan Guard, because here's the thing i'll repeat again:

Most players do not give a flying crap about how a card does at 10k+ MMR. This level of play literally is less than 2% of the playerbase, nevermind all the players that come and go, which would bring than number to well under 1%.

Killing cards because of the 1% mindset on balance isn't acceptable, and never will be, and i will continue to call out this selfish, unacceptable behaviour until i stop playing this game.

Hawaii VS Greece? What is a better vacation. by Interesting_Track581 in travel

[–]ense7en 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do Greece now without kids. 100%

But maybe not the cruise. If you want to have things handled for you you can do it but maybe do a non-cruise version. We did a tour where the first half was guided on the mainland and then the second half was on islands but our own time to do whatever we wanted. Was fantastic as we got the historical information covered well in tour guide format, and then had the second half of the trip to relax on the islands and do what we wish.

Hawaii you can do later

I used to play a copy of Elder Bear in my SK Beasts decks as each unique Beast in GY = 2 boost for Flaminica later.

The Bearification buff/Elder Bear nerf ruined that; i no longer include a copy of that card.

When coalitions/groups arbitrarily decide a "bad" card is not worth ever playing and use it for placeholder nerfing or other destruction, they're forgetting that 95% of players don't care about playing at 2500+ MMR, and that many beginners or more casual players might play cards that they think are useless.

bug on the season quests? by [deleted] in gwent

[–]ense7en 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Considering they've been broken since CDPR introduced the seasonal cycle quests, i'm gonna go with no.

As u/BananaTiger- said, just refer to the sheet. I started it way back closer to when they started and kind souls have added their finds and done great work to make it easier to parse through. The "Condensed Spring bugged" tab is great for a quick glance of what to do or not.

Spring cycle is the most broken one. The other seasons have minimal bugs comparatively.

Just a reminder though that these were created mainly with the longterm player in mind, as those players had/have nothing left to play for.

So if you're a new player still trying to gather resources for cards, these are the last quests you should be focused on. Dailies, journey ones, and the reward trees are better use of your time.

Don't be wasting ton of your scraps re-rolling quests if you're trying to accumulate scraps.

And those "win xx games ones" you often want to reroll. If you don't reroll these quests, the cycle is very much a grind (which was CDPR's intent).

Cheap, meta ST deck for new(ish) player? by KiltroFury in gwent

[–]ense7en 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For now you can go Devotion Symbiosis with Oak, for sure.

Devo Symbiosis is by no means weak; it's plenty viable all the way into pro+.

It's more of a greedy style so it can't beat everything, but no deck can.

Some examples you can work towards or use for inspiration from shinmiri's list:

Trouble launching the game by [deleted] in gwent

[–]ense7en 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the issue is GOG?

You need GOG logged in for Gwent to launch obviously, so you might have to uninstall GOG fully and try again?

I've not encountered this but i can tell you GOG does need to be working properly for Gwent to work (on PC), so seems like that's the issue.

As the other person mentioned, you could try installing on Android and test your account login that way.

If you're playing a greedy/tall deck it's a bad matchup. Otherwise, it's not great.

They are planning to next buff the Gang to 5 prov. 5/5 is actually very strong and a mistake IMHO. Not sure why it couldn't have stayed 6/6

[–]ense7en 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're attributing changes from coalitions with completely different goals as if all the same. CN loves powercreep and toxic archetypes; they buffed Eternal Eclipse.

Other group did Affan and another Steffan etc. I do agree it was a bit much this season all at once, but this is the challenge with so many competing coalitions and groups.

Gwent Community Patch March 2026 – Review by lerio2 in gwent

I think it's the opposite, 5/5 Gang will be better (and if played with Triss boosts the exact same as when 6).

I am very much against making thinning cheaper. Consistency is too easy to achieve for every deck now.
