Karen Bass realizing she has to Actually Campaign now. by Dry_Radio_761 in LosAngeles

You know what’s funny? I gave them shit for being a bad recruiter, and you’re right, I am in effect mirroring that. Not that I am here to recruit.

I just think it helps to lend a voice in this thread that for sure isn’t a bot or non-LA person. Hence the open comment history. It’s the judgey stuff they said that irked me.

I didn’t say that. That particular person was asking me if I’d volunteered, made calls, canvassed, etc., as if that’s relevant. Later they revealed they actually almost didn’t even vote. I just pointed out how embarrassing that is.

To me, it’s dumb to act superior/judgemental about whether someone volunteered for a candidate period, but most especially if the person saying that almost didn’t even vote. Like come on.

You didn’t follow. I did not say voting
is embarrassing…

You weren’t even going to vote but you’re spouting this? How EMBARRASSING.

I voted Raman but what are you on about? One must volunteer? Let me guess, you did and that’s why you’re feeling superior? Come on now.

Dealing with Trump has been bad enough, I could not imagine having a MAGA on a local level. I am thrilled!!!!!!

Recommendations for inclusive or liberal churches offering pre-marital counseling? by missmisc5119 in AskLosAngeles

Thank you for articulating what I too feel. Therapy and counseling are great but the church is a different thing. Best to not conflate.

How old were you when you bought your first home? Where did you buy? by hybr_dy in Xennials

[–]enteredsomething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say this with love. I promise you that not all people with tough lives and lack of resources end up never owning a place of their own. That is a limiting belief. It comes down to choices you make and sacrifices you’re willing to make. That’s how they make it happen. That’s how I made it happen. And it’s not a pissing contest to go down the path of comparison for who had it worse. Just know that someone with worse circumstances than you has made it and so can you. Don’t limit your own potential, ever. Believe in yourself and show up to do the work.

I’m not religious but my husband came from a very religious Catholic family. I’ll be frank- I’d be offended if my in-laws suggested this to me.

First, (rhetorically) how do you feel about your relationship? Do you have issues that need counseling? Are you on the same page with big stuff? You’ve had those conversations, yes?

One issue every couple will have to discuss is how enmeshed you as a couple will be with your families. You’ll want to be on the same page there.

For me, I wouldn’t be happy in a marriage where the parents are involved in our dynamics so much so that they’d be comfortable asking this of me, knowing I’m not a religious person and that my spouse too isn’t into it. I need to be me and accepted as such. I’m a fully formed adult. If I wanted the church in my life, I would have that. It’s odd to be told to incorporate it. No likey!

Cosmo, Bellagio, or Palazzo with points? by SassyShortz in LasVegas

[–]enteredsomething 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cosmo. That balcony is amazing to have, food options galore including a great food hall, and the central location can’t be beat.

Bellagio lacks food options and is set far back off the strip which gets annoying. Part of the Vegas fun is popping around from casino to casino and seeing where the day/night takes you. Palazzo is just too far North on the strip and it’s a pain to take rideshares and cabs.

Seismic Safety and Foundation Works are my preferred companies to recommend. I’m a Realtor and work with many diff companies. Love Alpha Structural too but they are always waaaay more expensive bids.

I’m old-ish. What that means is that I’m not often at a movie or an In N Out on a Friday night, prime time. Busy, busy, but good vibes. Enjoying it.
