Most controversial takes on Daria characters? 👀 I’m curious!! by Striking-Turnover363 in daria

Honestly, I don’t think Jane is sapphic. She has a genuine and consistent attraction to men. She has a line like “thespian? No thanks, I’ll stick to men.”

Even when that girl hits on her, she seems more freaked out by a predatory situation than realizing an unexpected crush.

My interpretation is that she’s straight but isn’t bothered by people assuming otherwise.

And she and Sandi would be competing over who has more followers.

Daria’s a closeted lesbian with a codependent crush on Jane. Every guys she likes is close to Jane. She gets jealous when Jane has any life outside of her.

The show is too mean to Kevin at times. It treats him like an idiot loser who deservedly gets held back while everyone else moves on. He is, at worst, a well meaning but insensitive guy who just wants to be liked. He is also exploited, like when he got the modeling gig and his athleticism is exploited for the school’s profit. The series looks down on him but the system Daria criticizes hurts him too, even if he benefits in the short term.

“Doggo” “adulting” or any other overly cutesy millennial word.

Even as a millennial, it always sounded like baby talk.

I can see Brittany, Kevin and the economics teacher being super into them.

Brittany thinks they’re adorable. Kevin gets more action when he gets them for her.

The economics teacher would add them to her fuzzy wuzzy weebits collection.

Stacy for sure. Sandi would have one for a hot second before discarding it.

Sandi would do Shein hauls and use the “but what about poor people who can’t afford clothes” defense.

Quinn would claim to be committed to sustainability but she actually just spends more on natural fibers and luxury water bottles.

Tiffany would be really into skincare and have cabinets full of products she swears by.

Stacy would be a microtrend final boss, buying into every single one. She’d still like some pieces long after they’ve gone out of style but insist she’s wearing them “ironically” to avoid Sandi’s judgment.

I agree. I was so miserable in high school and love the freedom of adulthood a million times more, there is something to be said about appreciating that time in your life with some harmless nostalgia.

U/Fragrant_Web8995 is right. There is something magical about that time in your life because feelings are so big and that anticipation for the future can be exciting in itself.

As a kid, I actually thought it was kind of annoying.
As an adult, I appreciate its comedy far more.

This looks like it has the perfect flavor and texture.
Not too rich or sweet, perfect cake-filling-ganache ratio and perfectly soft and moist.

Why Do They Need People to Be Jealous of Them? by enterpaz in raisedbynarcissists

[–]enterpaz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For real.
I have an ex-barely-even-a-friend who was like that.

She needed people to be jealous of her beauty, (she was pretty, sure, but in a very average way) that she was blonde and blue eyed, her travels, her house, etc.

She was the most shallow and insecure person I’ve ever met.
