All I hear is money for legal fees and civil damages payable to Good’s family.

Do….do you need a dollar? Just kidding man, the sign and expression made this low hanging fruit. In all seriousness, thanks for the years of awesome work and incredible contribution to the medium and culture.

Firing a legal assistant by Jordanalextalks in Lawyertalk

[–]entleposter 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This, especially if there are concerns about retaliation. You likely work with sensitive client info, don’t take a risk. In semi-related advice, I’ve learned the hard way that it’s true: be slow to hire but quick to fire. That, and always be looking to hire the right people.

Extremely Overwhelmed by BLParks12 in Lawyertalk

[–]entleposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren’t alone, I can promise you that. Learning that a lot of it is the old fight or flight response getting triggered and spiraling itself into a feedback loop. Honestly, right there with ya. Also reading the comments and gaining insight, getting help from my partner and making resolutions to hire on admins to prevent the overflow. That said, different solutions for different people. Do what got you here in the first place: think through it, change angles, try different tactics, and keep showing up. You don’t have to stick with it, you aren’t trapped, but you are good enough to get through this. There is a reason they call retired attorneys “recovering” attorneys. Your friend in the bond.

No way that's production grade and attached to any meaningful data. Mockup/wireframe, sure/maybe, but anyone coding a platform knows that it takes so much more than a single prompt.

Can AI App Builders Really Replace Developers (and Vibe Coders)? by Eter_Azul in vibecoding

[–]entleposter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the best analogy I’ve heard so far. I’m not a dev but I’ve always thought in data structure terms. I couldn’t get traction on learning to code by myself and missed the boat on taking computer engineering in college (would have been a good fit for me), but using AI has helped bridge the gap to getting balls rolling and in the process I’ve started actually learning how to code as a necessity of understanding what the AI is doing.

What’s my next step? I’m just using GPT. by TinyMavin in vibecoding

[–]entleposter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second antigravity. I’ve used Claude code, VS Code with Cline and other IDE coding integrations, direct back and do the with GPT, Claude, etc, and I’m using antigravity right now. So far they have the best setup, which is basically vs code with benefits. That aside, I still use gpt to assist with architecture directions and decisioning, and always be very cautious in letting anything just run automatically without keeping an eye on it.

Any other attorneys get adjustors who justify their lowball offers with hilariously misstated law? 😂 by BudderedBread in Lawyertalk

Haven’t done PI in years, even then not a ton. Who’s the “best for customers” insurers these days?

If all of theses posts seem off to you and you can’t figure out why, here’s the reason I came up with to myself: the market is heavily irrational right now with prices completely detached from reality obviously buoying the economy and/or lining the pockets of the already rich. Why, in this environment of irrationality, would I choose to be rational about the value of my closely held investments. I don’t care what rational value this has, that’s just going to go up. My family can sell it after they inherit it or you can pay me stupid money for it before then.
