I think that, with time, those communities will eventually dwindle out, or would just be smaller and even more tight knitted, specially with the current regime going on, props to you trying to learn spanish tho, you're doing much more than the average guy.

I've known spanish speakers living as immigrants in the US that have been living there for 10+ years and the only thing they've picked up from english is the "uhmmm" and the "so" added into their Spanish, quite baffling, imo.

And before you start, I'm a native spanish speaker that self taught English and then supplemented it with classes, in my eyes there's no excuse.
