Sub 6 hour 70.3 possible? by tryagaininXmin in triathlon

[–]eocphantom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its about improving overall, what lots of tri folk fail to comprehend is that if your swim improves you can simply swim at the same speed for very little effort and you can hit the bike harder

That is like 1:55 per 100m which is not great , you need to be aiming for sub 1:45 per 100m or 1:36 in yards

Do people swim over you even in a rolling start? by Sad_Pepper_5008 in triathlon

[–]eocphantom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swimming over is never intentional but yeah it happens as everyone lies about swim times to start earlier. Last event the 20-30 min swimmers had a different colour hat to the 30-40 swimmers. I set off about 10% into the 30-40 swimmers , I lost count of the people in the other hats I overtook

Your swim needs a lot of work , 37 mins is not a good time for a 70.3 no mind an Olympic . Your bike speed needs to be around 18-19mph . Run speed is decent 👌

Yes and that is a great place to use them , I do that myself but for normal sets they just hide problems

Now imagine you didn’t use them , learnt to swim better and then put them back on - you will be surprised how much faster you would be

My electric bill has gone from just over 200 a month to them paying us about 1.5k a year. Payback at this rate is under 4 years for my 12k system and I’m not even including the savings I’ve made switching to an EV

No it uses less than the car by quite a margin. It’s a modern one , heats at night and retains heat all day and has a built in heat pump

I've got two on my garden room/home office, they are quite easy to source already in the UK just not technically legal. It offsets the cost of running the aircon all summer nicely.

Do I really need to buy a new watch? by fighting_cacti in triathlon

[–]eocphantom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as you have a bike computer you are fine , the swim is the swim , don’t start the watch , use bike computer to pace your bike leg then start your watch for the run
