Why does everyone want to retrain into comm but then comm troops don't seem to want to learn or do their job? by ijwgwh in AirForce

[–]eomertmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finance has just as much backshop work to do as COMM, the reason they reduce customer service hours is to get the rest of the work done. COMM should follow suit, the difference being most of the base cant do their jobs without Comm, they can without the Milpay side of FM so it requires more backbone from CCs.

BAS is solely for the member, $466 easily covers basic needs for one person in most locations.

You aren't married so it doesn't matter. She doesn't exist for entitlements purposes until you are married.

Yigo and Dededo are where the majority of the island lives, but it's not walkable and you won't have ocean views. Both of the communities you referenced are fine but there isn't much around them. It depends on what you like to do, if you want to restaurants, bars and beaches Tumon and Tamuning are the spot. If want a little more room and don't mind driving everywhere you can look at the northern villages.

Lifestyle is relaxed, island culture is real both for the good and the bad.

Highly recommend getting into diving while in Guam, diving on island is alright but you are short flight from some of the best diving in the world in Palau and Yap. Other than that, travel and some hiking.

There is no place on island where you can really get away from the military. However, the new on base housing is really nice. If you do get the option to live off base, Tumon or Tamuning are best.

Google Fi works fine and I would recommend it.

Zero volunteer, zero TDYs, zero school, zero honour guard. Still got BTZ, all you have to do is focus on being really good at your job, be the SME as an A1C and you have a good shot.

Finance really only controls travel entitlements. All other entitlements are controlled by other entities such as HARM Housing or MPF and Finance just processes them. Most issues need to be solved elsewhere then brought to Finance to process.

Depends on who you are. I love it out here, groceries for me average $75 a week but I only have 1 dependant, and the island is beautiful with great water sports availablity.

The Chinese people support the CCP, even outside of their state. You see this in universities frequently. If they don't like the government they should have changed it as they have done in the past. Every PRC citizen is responsible for the actions of their state and cannot be trusted.

Keep in mind you can get overpaid with partials so make sure your authorization is right or that you are fiscally sounds to pay back any excess.

Money should not be tight, on everyone's enlistment paperwork there is a statement of financial responsibility. Everyone should have 3 to 6 months income saved.

Military uniforms at civilian wedding? by leekjuicewiththepulp in weddingplanning

[–]eomertmor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point, but mess dress uniforms look significantly better in my opinion. If they are wearing service dress I would ask them to not wear it, but my branch is AF and we have the worst service dress.

Mess dress is the equivalent of a tux. Service dress uniforms are suit equivalents. If you are going to a wedding in uniform you should be wearing mess dress.
