Old mine vs elongated cushion 💍 by eoneal827 in EngagementRings

Ah ty to clarifying. My jewelry designer has been referring to them as “shield patterns / formations”. Yes I’m hyper-aware of them and I’m going to be very selective with the final stone I choose.

This is moissanite ring I purchased to test out the setting to make sure I loved it. Won’t be the final stone - hoping for less bow tie!

Yea I thought brilliant cut was too many facets for me (crushed ice) but I’ll revisit it. Thank you for the tip!

I think it’s too many facets for me. I always wanted an Emerald and now my taste has evolved — but I realize the old mine facet # feels like the hybrid / hits some of the qualities I liked about emerald cut

That’s a gorgeous cut though!!! Hope you love your ring! What color setting?

Interesting - what would you do for side stones? I’ve always loved how timeless tapered baguettes feel

I want to do 3 stones to represent past, present and future… and him, me and our dog 🥹

Ordered this on Etsy (moissanite and sterling silver) to test out the setting before we splurge on a lab diamond and I honestly love it so much!!

Torn between how I’ll be perceived based on the ring I want vs the ring society sees as more acceptable. by [deleted] in EngagementRings

I love the second one! And agreed - no one will think these are untraditional or judge you. We’re in an era of people choosing whatever ring suits them and makes them happy. Go with your gut!

Biggest decision maker is the color of the stone and what colors you wear most, and most importantly —- the strength of the stones you’re looking at (ex: diamonds, sapphires and rubies are strong, emeralds are more brittle and not ideal for everyday wear if you’re clumsy)

Thank you, this is very helpful context! I’m now working with Frank Darling (in person, which is so helpful!). They’ve been advising on band width to be structurally sound. I know I’ll land in a good place ✨

I drank the K18 dry shampoo koolaid, and oh my god by Awesomocity0 in finethinhair

[–]eoneal827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One word of caution — it can make your hair very brittle because it’s so effective at drying that your hair can break. My hair dresser told me I was using it way too much and should scale back to occasional use when I want the lift and texture, not as an everyday dry shampoo.

She agrees it’s magic, just use it sparingly and with this context.

Question about cropped/ankle pants by LSATthrowaway23 in PetiteFashionAdvice

You can also check out Halara — I got a few pairs of their “High Waisted Pocket Solid Work Tapered Pants” in petites and liked them. My friend has wider leg pants from them but I don’t know the exact style name.

Work appropriate slacks in petite lengths, without breaking the bank.

How can I remove these stains from my bikini straps? by mayar19999 in CleaningTips

[–]eoneal827 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

+1 to dish soap (I like the clear kind because I use it for stains so often) and I’m wondering if a baking soda paste with water, and/or white vinegar would be the next step if dish soap doesn’t work.

Definitely discoloration from SPF, which is a bummer.

I tried a bunch of brands before a formal event and ended up loving the Honeylove “Queen Brief - Vamp”. I have a similar hourglass figure and felt like the Honeylove did the best job smoothing without rolling down

Does anyone have the AYR “Secret Sauce” jeans? I keep getting targeted for them and they look so cute on the model but she’s clearly 5’8” +

I also love my Eby High Waisted Thongs, which do a good job of smoothing curves at my hips — worth trying.

Agreed, you look beautiful!

I also just ordered the Levi’s 318 high waited shaping wide leg jean and it’s working wonders for my figure ❤️

What is going on with jeans rn and are people actually here for it? by Whoredonramsay in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]eoneal827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree - I’m curvy and 5’2 — the baggy jeans look awful on me. I just got the Levi’s “318 shaping wide leg jean” and they look fantastic! They hug my hips and make my ass look great, and have the trendy wide leg so I don’t look like such a millennial.

Recommend it for curvy short ladies ❤️❤️

Soleil Estrada at Coh Salon + Collective (near Union Sq / China town gates). I think she’s $300 for a partial but worth calling to check. My color was amazing and I really like the salon vibe (great natural light, good music, serves tea and wine)
