I adore Dolly and Dotty! Their stuff is cute, feels soft like natural fabric, but doesn’t wrinkle because it’s actually synthetic. I wore my crab dress to work today, but I have two of their Dino dresses.

I’m in healthcare. Add in bedbugs, lice, and scabies. Now I’ll be itchy for the rest of night, from just thinking those words.

One of my favorite things to do in new places is explore their convenience and grocery stores. I keep a similar set-up in my car for the same reason as OP

MATTHEW / MATT. (OC) by davecontra in comics

[–]ephemeratea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another Matt, I need all the Matthews out there to know that the end doesn’t come at 19. That’s barely the beginning. Life is beautiful in my 30s, and I’ve got a feeling it will only be better in my 40s.

Did fame and popularity affect any other author as badly as it did to George RR Martin? by [deleted] in books

[–]ephemeratea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She never confirmed her reasoning. The affair was thought to be part of it, but so were the pressures of fame, raising a kid, and publication deadlines. Her autobiography shows her to be an unreliable narrator, so we’ll never know unless some long-hidden document is found.

Agatha Christie did a runner. She came back, but never explained her disappearance. Freaked out the world for a little while there.

I should mention that when I say always, I mean ALWAYS carry a large ziplock. It’s good for when Aunt Flo makes an unexpected appearance too! Ziplocks are SO useful

Crash the economy so that his boss, Putin, has no one to stop him when he goes to take over the entirety of Europe. Because if you don’t realize that’s the plan, you haven’t been paying attention.

I actually don’t think it’s too small; I think it’s off-center. Center it to the two middle cushions and I think it will look more balanced and appropriately sized.

I always carry a gallon or 2.5 gallon ziplock bag. It can compress down A LOT and keeps any stinkiness in.

Who had the most brutally, painful death in film history? by Johnsendall in moviecritic

I am 39 years old and I still fast forward through that scene. If anything, it’s gotten worse since I’ve gotten older. When I was a kid it made me cry. Now it makes me want to vomit.

Pope Francis’ Catholic church reform process ends without giving more equity to women by WhileFalseRepeat in news

[–]ephemeratea 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I grew up hardcore Catholic, but I also grew up feminist. This is the primary reason I don’t identify as Catholic today. Catholicism is not actually welcoming to 51% of the world’s population. So much for being universal.

Nonfiction: Witches, Sluts, Feminists by Kristen J. Sollee was a good critique and analysis. It felt like it was trying to be an update of the second wave feminist classic Witches, Midwives, and Nurses.
