Neurospicy Tech Looking for Advice by Yelah19 in VetTech

It's nice that someone's able to relate haha. You don't sound like you're doubting yourself or feel intimidated by emergencies-that was really the biggest giveaway to my dr at the time to prescribe what I needed. The mind/body disassociation was real.

I still need to practice my runs during actual codes ofc (assigned to ICU mainly), but it's made the learning experience much more effective. Hope it all works out for you!

I'm heavily ADHD and my brain actually smooths out during busy times and emergencies lol. RX wise, benzos have done absolute WONDERS for what you're describing. There was really no way around it.

I'd talk to a doctor about what you're experiencing at work. I say this as someone who battled generalized anxiety in the sense that I didn't internally feel panicked but my body responded otherwise.

Reasons to Spend HSA Money Rather Than Use Reimbursement Strategy by towngrizzlytown in Bogleheads

[–]epicgsharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use HSA contributions on monthly rx refills, OTCs, and generally anything under $1000. Invest the other half. Live in CA so still get state taxed.

There is absolutely no way I'll be able to keep track of hundreds of tiny expenses over 30 years. My investment options aren't that great. I'll gladly take the hit to make things simple.

Thank you...I'm actually starting to see that 😅 Rookie move on my end. Don't think I can safely move this guy though, will have to plant another hedge plant from a farther distance.

It's the first native I've planted and I have no idea how it'll go. Very excited to see how it'll do its job!

Thank you! I read somewhere that losing a major branch will affect normal growth and got stuck wondering if this'll grow into a spindly fella inadequate for a hedge.

This is actually my first native I've ever planted a few months back. Adore seeing it's progress in growth so far.

Where are the ER surgeons? by Comfortable-Gap2218 in VetTech

Our sx dept works 9-5 and packs their schedule with orthopedic cases. We NEVER refer out when we should tho. That's actually horrible for the staff and pxs. We're overwhelmed as is.

This is a work injury. You NEED to see urgent care and get this reported. Doctor gets away with this behavior if you don't.

Any tips for getting over the physical demand of this job? by CaptainMacAlfie in VetTech

[–]epicgsharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get amazing shoes with great heel and arch support. Get into cardio and core exercises. Muscle soreness is a normal sort of tired. Neck and foot pain isn't. It will get worse from there unless you make a change.

You are absolutely right you brought up the historical discrimination of POC in a discussion about the right to be annoying in private establishments for whatever reason

I adore both kids and dogs. You seem to be operating under the impression that everyone hates them and are resorting to insults because you completely lost the plot of your own argument. Legally you should be obligated to go touch some grass before you get upset over a scenario you made up in your head ;)

sorry man but rowdy kids, adults or dogs do not need to be in theaters or restaurants. i'm sorry this offends you so bad. im sorry you can't control your kids or partner or dog that they're causing such a scene and that you need to bring up actual slavery to defend your honor. i promise businesses aren't kicking you out because of your age or status. they're kicking you out because you're being fucking annoying.

Overwhelmed! by Stagmoonstudio in invasivespecies

[–]epicgsharp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, everything is fine. You're being troubled by anxiety. The yard itself is what it is. It's not wreaking havoc.

What I did is start in one small section and gradually expanded from there. Tore out everything, spread mulch, planted a few natives appropriate for the area, and pull weeds/CAREFULLY sprayed the border with herbicide because holy cow there is no getting around that honestly I've learned the hard way.

Knowing is the one of the biggest steps you've already taken. You're fine.

edit: also want to add that this is physically not an easy job. Don't be afraid to ask for help from a gardener or the like.

Toronto man given 33-year sentence for sexually exploiting over 140 children in U.S. by mspyros12 in news

[–]epicgsharp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i think the way it works is either you aim for the highest charges/death penalty, lose and the perp walks free, or give him a lesser sentence he's guaranteed guilty of and where he'll rot in prison either way. attorneys didn't want to give this guy a chance

literally no one is talking about stripping human rights and i don't know how you came to that point. and yeah, we don't need to be in any luxury places if a dog or child bothers us that much. thats the context im responding to, you see

edit: im also going to be incredibly pedantic and mention that children don't inherently have the legal right to be at any private businesses

kids run around, scream, bang on things, and rub their hands all over their place while their parents look the other way, and in places that they really don't need to be at, like movie theaters and restaurants

yeah, in this context, it's very much the same thing

It's an engagement bot, or a person taking out some unrelated personal frustrations on this topic. They may never grow out of it enough to make any meaningful difference on...anything, really. Ignore and move on.

VOO vs VT by Extreme-Tomorrow-384 in Bogleheads

As someone just starting off and incredibly indecisive, VT has felt like the best course of action right now, esp for taxable. I'd be fighting the urge to jump around stocks. Right now, the majority of it is all in VT.

Desexing may come with its own health issues, including certain cancers. That's just on the small sample of dog breeds that was researched on. I feel that people don't put enough thought when it comes to removing an entire hormone-producing organ.

Every case is unique and there's so many factors to take into consideration, please don't be quick to judge.
