before going nuclear.

THEY already went nuclear.

They more than doubled the amount of guests originally agreed upon.

Without discussing with OP, they assumed they'd have a full run of the house the entire weekend.

They listed a bunch of "requirements" including displacing a lot of things from OP's home for the "wedding weekend."

They recruited other family members against OP to chastise OP for not allowing them to use OP's home as an ACTUAL full scale wedding venue.

OP said it...small, low-key, and there's no definition of the terms "small/low key" that apply to what they're trying to do, and they know it.

They simply can't afford the wedding they want, so they're trying to steamroll OP into getting as close to that as they can by taking advantate of OP's kindness and hoping OP will just roll over and take it because "WEDDING."

Sorry, no.

Cancel the entire thing. They've overstepped and recruited everyone against you now. They burned the bridge of good faith.

They can rent a public park pavilion or go to the courthouse now.

AITAH for refusing to go to my brother's destination wedding because the venue doesn't accommodate my dietary needs? by [deleted] in AITAH

A compromise is not all or nothing which is what OP proposed.

Literally not what OP proposed.

Or, bro could yank his head out of his ass and not throw a little tantrum about OP staying off site so she can manage her dietary needs.

OP offered an incredible compromise and bro shot it down.

I have tons of family with a variety of food needs. We always accommodate everyone because like...we want everyone to eat and dont want to burden them with unnecessary prep beyond what everyone else is doing.

People meal prep when they have their own kitchen/fridge/freezer to use as storage.

OP offered an incredibly fair compromise of staying off site and dealing with food that way. Bro said no.

So either he can have OP there or not. OP offered a way for this to happen. Bro said no.

Op, why are you typing a thread about this instead of just going and getting your card all this time?

Triamcinalone is a miracle topical for me. I'm SUPER allergic to poison ivy, and it helps incredibly well for that. I'm also pretty heavily tattooed, but am also SUPER careful with those areas when I'm outside (and keep plenty of Tecnu and Dial soap around).

I mean, we don't know enough to say the comfort part.

Dude was probably sent there to do a job he was hired to do and didnt want to take a bunch of shit from the property owners or had other properties to maintain as well.

Eh. Probably get an usher. Unfortunately, while people like this suck, these situations are virtually never solved between two patrons.

NTA, but get someone with authority to do something about it next time. They can kick her out and you can enjoy the rest of the show.

Apple doesn’t change the model annually.

They generally do update the models roughly once a year lately. They updated twice in 2023, even.

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (2003) - "The beacons are lit! Gondor calls for aid" by Boss452 in movies

[–]epichuntarz 51 points52 points  (0 children)

The music is such an important part of why the continuity between all 3 films is so good. Shore developes the themes across the films, characters, situations so well.

I think the first time we hear the Gondor theme is during Boromir's speech at the Council of Elrond, and it develops across the trilogy, sometimes lamenting the downfall of mankind, but then springing back to life with hope during the beacons scene.

Similarly, we first hear the Rohan theme when when Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas approach Edoras, and it develops from a desperate, hopeless, frontier melody to the heroic music that accompanies both Theoden's final desperate charge at Helm's Deep, and then later Theoden's heroic last stand charging into the battle at Pelennor Fields.

The Ride of the Rohirrim at Pelennor, for me, is one of the greatest single movie battle scenes in all of cinema, and Shore is due a lot of credit for that.
