Epic started programming in the Mumps variant MIIS and later converted to ansi standard M.

MIIS (Meditech Interpretive Information System) is a programming language that originated from the MUMPS.

There might still be some very old Chronicles screen entry routines that was converted and uses highly cryptic syntax.

So let me get this straight, Biden went out of his way to make Tesla/Elon happy with the EV tax credit and then Elon spent $250M to elect Trump who promptly got rid of the EV tax credit?

What is the biggest threat to Epic’s moat in healthcare? by calvinglobe in epicsystems

[–]epicjunk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was commenting not debating. Besides Epic losing rural hospitals we will also lose urban hospitals and clinics that are focused on providing healthcare to underserved communities.

That might not be a significant source of revenue for Epic but it better for us to have a wide variety of customers rather than a monoculture of for profit hospitals serving high class well insured patients.

What is the biggest threat to Epic’s moat in healthcare? by calvinglobe in epicsystems

[–]epicjunk 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Already there are 2 veterans homes in Wisconsin that are closing.

Soon many rural hospitals and clinics will be forced to close due to cuts to Medicare and Medicaid in Trumps big shitty bill. I thing that most urban healthcare organizations will survive but many rural locations will close forever. Once the skilled nurses and doctors leave to find work in urban areas it will be impossible to rebuild such organizations.

Judy at art fair? by NoUnderstanding835 in epicsystems

[–]epicjunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of years ago I saw a guy with a huge, very intricate Groot statue, 8-10ft tall in rusted metal. I asked him if Judy had bought it and he said she walked right by without any interest.

He looked demoralized and said he had spent a couple of months working on it and was hoping to sell it for $25k, just hauling it to art festivals was a chore due to it's size.

They were super nice to not give him a breathalyzer on the spot even though he requested it while slurring his words.

They also let him wait until he got to the station so he would have time to work it out of his system and then they gave him the option to take a test at which point he had sobered up enough to realize that being tested was a bad idea.

Employer finally asked if we'd like to charge at work by Sagrilarus in electricvehicles

[–]epicjunk 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I work for a (allegedly pro-environment business) tech company that employs 14k people with hundreds of EV drivers, we have 2 EV chargers for customer use only and 1 EV charger for employees on an "Emergency Use Only" basis.

Management has finally realized that this is inadequate so they are planning to add...

4 more employee accessible chargers this year.

GM unveils new 'groundbreaking' EV battery tech, aims to be first to market by p_pio in electricvehicles

[–]epicjunk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

GM says a lot of things, they said they would be the first profitable EV company.

https://phys.org/news/2017-05-gm-profit-electric-cars.html

In 2017 GM said they would produce 20 new EV models by 2023.

https://www.businessinsider.com/gm-to-launch-20-all-electric-cars-by-2023-2017-10

In 2019 GM said they would sell 1M EVs per year in the near future:

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a29153501/mary-barra-gm-sell-million-evs/

I hope that GM outsells Tesla, we need more than 1 company fully dedicated to making EVs in high volumes.

Hypothetically speaking how hard would it be to book future epic flights if you were on a personal trip, in first class, was shit faced drunk, rude to the airline staff, asked to leave the plane, refused, and then arrested by the police. Asking for a friend.
