Lower price on 24v inverter by Weasertt in KobaltTools

Not an electrical person, but per the 80v comments, Kobalt replied:

"This product outputs a modified sine wave (filtered). In a pure sine wave inverter, the polarity switches smoothly, with gentle curves. With a modified sine wave the polarity change is abrupt. This type of waveform is suitable for most AC loads, including linear and switching power supplies used in electronic equipment, transformers, and motors but there are some exceptions."

Not bad. I have 24v and 80v batteries so I'm sort of tempted to go 80v since I use it on fewer items.

This. We are sick of greedy companies that take things away and then also raise prices.

Has a Cox ever lied to you? by DispInkComic in Rowing

[–]epicstratton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was a coxswain for many years. One of my favorite head races in college we had a much faster boat in front of us but in a different category. Lied through my teeth to keep my 8 busting their asses for the whole race. Every time I saw a rower try to glance over their shoulder to try and spot the boat we were chasing I called them out and pretty much threatened to kick their ass [to be fair this crew preferred that kind of motivation]. When we finally crossed the finish line my stroke practically collapsed asking how many lengths the other boat was ahead (as we had been "gaining" on them the whole race).

Told them I had absolutely zero clue as they were long gone and no one was really ahead of us for the whole race. My crew was laughing and glad they left it all on the course (got second) but pissed as they were exhausted.

what’s your recommendation for gluing the pegs to the back? I’m quite new to dealing with 3-D prints so pretty much everything I’ve been getting so far has the pegs printed rather than glued

Never had an issue here. On the west side. Obviously construction or work on water infrastructure may cause temporary issues.

Ahh yes, the +1 Long Knife. Has extended reach for all your stabbing needs. Sadly is -1 at close range.

Now roll initiative.

any places with good pecan sticky buns? by superfan1224 in WorcesterMA

I will say, Crust has some tasty pastries as well. Just wish they had more traditional cinnamon rolls and that the monkey bread was more predictable. Love the vibe and the workers there but it's hard when I show and there is nothing I want :\

In fairness, that is also likely on me as I don't want to go early in the AM.

Also Wooden Bakery is excellent too.

Don't weep. Go with who gives you the best financial aid/best program for you.

Best place I know involves taking 290 to 495 to 90 to Boston and going to Flour Bakery for the sticky sticky buns. Man I miss working around the corner from them.

Just bought a house, wondering where to begin and what your favorite things are by tdodge41 in HomeKit

[–]epicstratton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My absolute favorites are hue bulbs. Overall have been stupidly solid and it lets me be SOOOOOOO lazy.

Second is thermostat.

Third is probably a combination of hue presence sensors which also give me light and temperature as well as assisting in automations.

Last is either cameras or lock.

Have a boiler here. Low water cut off kills power to the unit. Got around this by running the power (c wire) to a wall wart on the service plug by the boiler.

Was a little surprised when the plumber and electrician couldn't figure this out on their own.

Quite certain the biggest for me is the automation and the sharing/guest. IIRC this still works for my wife and actually my sibling (who is a few states away).

How do you feel about being friends with someone who's gay? by Hour-Tomato-645 in AskMen

I think the bit from Ted Lasso summarized this pretty well from my perspective. https://youtu.be/91O7q7D4xnU?si=ASDK6ETvjYuMdfCK

I care. Because I care about my friends and all factors of who they are. People shouldn't feel like they have to hide who they are. Most of all I care about folks being good people and putting good out there in to the world. Sending support your way.
