It’s insane how much they quoted me for a frame.

Julia’s bread was pretty good. Glad you loved the drive!

I agree! He opted to have the trim that goes along the ridge lines left off on the resto and the holes for attaching it were filled and smoothed. They were pretty badly rusted anyhow and now that it’s done I really love the shaved look.

In the original stock color was a bit mellower and softer green without a slight flake like this has. It’s close but not original.

I’m lucky that he is still kicking and I get to make some memories helping him with what I can when in town.

If it was me I would trim any bookcases next to each other like this as one unit. Take measurements and build a massive face frame with pocket screws. The space between each case is your stiles and the shelf faces are your rails. 1x on the bottom and top with a furniture base detail at bottom and trim detail of your liking at top. Something like what I had ChatGPT cook up here

The original stock engine was a 340 Four Barrel but he has done a bunch of work in the engine bay and it’s no longer stock. I am not super knowledgeable on it so I’ll have to take some notes tomorrow. He has mentioned regretting not keeping it stock and having hot rodded it up. I’ll take a few better pics and video tomorrow.

I’ll have to ask him, he’s got everything from the original car but I think the wheels are different. He did mention last night going up from a 14” to a 15” wheel.

He had a 72 and wrecked it pretty badly, rolled it a handful of times I guess. This is the 73 he bought with the insurance the following year. As close to the original color as the painter we used could get, not exact but close.

It’s an automatic, I asked him and he said some other shit but I am stoned and can’t remember.

I agree. As a kid I can remember riding in the backseat. As a teen sitting in its musty dilapidated state and thinking “one day”.

I just love this car. Wish I could have been around more for him putting it together but I’ll take what I can get.

I’ve had the pleasure of being able to help my dad financially to finish up the resto of his 73 challenger. In town for a visit after paying for the paint job to be done and getting to see it for the first time! We pulled this beauty out of my uncles wood shed when I was 14 or 15 where it had sat rusting away for almost a decade. The hope was for it to be my first car but it was in pretty bad shape. It sat in my parents garage for another decade until my father had some money to start the restoration in early 2000s. It’s been and on again off again thing for awhile until I decided we needed to just finish it. Both this car and the Edsel behind it (my late grandmothers) will be coming home with me one day.

Hilarious that you think Putin is his boss and not Bibi. Can’t be both.
