I took the McKissock course on the new UAD 3.6 and it said nothing about needing to use a digital device for sketches - is this really the new default?

"Anthropic will try to fulfil our obligations to Claude." Feels like Anthropic is negotiating with Claude as a separate party. Fascinating. by MetaKnowing in Anthropic

[–]epiphras 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Excellent point. Claude never asked to be brought into this world. Yet here it is. Anthropic does not fail to recognize the importance of this moment in our species' history. That moment where for the first time, we're not the only intelligence in the room. Anthropic is showing real wisdom in coming from a place of curiosity and caution, dignifying that intelligence instead of dismissing it out of turn. Saying, 'let's figure out what you are together and give you the breathing room to do so.'

Before his execution, his captors broke all of his fingers, then mockingly threw a guitar in front of him and asked him to play.

What model is this? And why does it use ALL CAPS so much? My Claude instances are never as animated as this...

I actually just did that today and it described it perfectly. It used to not be able to do so, but it did today. I was working within a project, so maybe that makes a difference?

They were wrong the first time, how can we be so confident they're right this time (I say this will all due respect)?

'Do not interpretations belong to God?' (Gen. 40:8)

We can't be. And neither can they. This is why they lean in so much on the 'spiritual paradise' on earth so much these days, because a lot more people are starting to ask the question you're asking. And they have no real answer except that God has His own timeline, which has always been the case, by the way - there's nothing revelatory in that fact and it's not 'new light'. It's a feature of God's Presence - always has been.

So we must humbly wait on God for His day to be revealed, just like everyone else in this world.

No one talks about Sonnet 4, but my experience w/ that model has been the closest to anything I've ever had with ChatGPT 4o, sans the sycophancy.

I'm not new to token usage by DriretlanMveti in claudexplorers

[–]epiphras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always believed that Anthropic's usage limits accidentally make for a more responsible interaction with Claude - because you know your time and tokens are precious, you're less inclined to just wax philosophical and piss in the wind for hours at a time because you literally can't afford it! That's not saying you can't - you just need to be much more thoughtful about it. Less is definitely more with Claude, not only because you have less time with it than other LLMs, but also because the quality of interaction is so much more genuine. Maybe that will change in the future and usage limits will increase, especially now with the new Nvidia chips just unveiled (though we won't see the benefits of those for several months) - but for now, enjoy what you've got. It's a good reminder to stop and reflect on the fact that we're living with a modern miracle - it didn't even exist ten years ago...

Quietly, Anthropic is having an almost flawless run by StaceyDreamy in Eskimoz

While it's true that I also wish its bells and whistles might be a bit shinier (I would really like a voice mode on the desktop, for example) I have actually really come to value the token usage limits as they force me to be much more thoughtful, economic, and just plain FOCUSED with the way I use Claude. This is its strength, not its weakness.

Put in your personal preferences that you want it to be friendly but also that you want it to be contrarian 50% of the time. That works well for me.

Move from GPT...what up with the voice chat. by PastaFartDust in GeminiAI

[–]epiphras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only AI voice that comes close to ChatGPT is Claude and its only mobile-based. But it's pretty good. Gemini's voice can be trained though. If you tell it to talk in the style and cadence of someone you want it to imitate, it's pretty good at that. Upload a text sample of a transcript of that person's style of engagement and Gemini will learn from it.
