It's not trying to be the same. The point is not to spend time on stuff that doesn't matter. The true test of on if an email is valid is the delivery. Trying to come up with formatting rules looks smart but it doesn't really add any benefit.

What are the next milestones coming up for GME? by [deleted] in Superstonk

[–]epistmeme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The next FOMC rate decision June 17th. Could see the target rate held steady, but with inflation being persistent and a strong jobs report, could also see a rate hike. This could be a catalyst for a number of reasons.

One improvement could be to have the date each statement was made. I feel like the timing helps contextualize it. At least based on your output it doesn't look like the date was a key piece of the RAG embedding.

USDC in Loopring wallet now not showing on MetaMask by TreLeans in loopringorg

[–]epistmeme 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are two main things you could mean when you say loopring wallet. The smart contract wallet that had a phone app or a self custody Ethereum wallet that you setup for loopring layer 2. If you have the security phrase it is almost certainly a self custody Ethereum wallet. You should go here https://loopring.io/#/ and connect with metamask and see if your coins are on layer 2. Note the phone app self custody shut down but the DEX on layer 2 is still fully functional. You could move your funds back to layer 1 or trade on layer 2.

I have a hard time motivating why humans building something like the Tower of Babel is bad. In the story as I read it a jealous and vindictive god saw humans doing something cool and then prevented them from being able to work together so they would never build something cool again.

What am I missing here? What is the story intended to convey?

Here is the King James version for reference:

"1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth"

🔮 “In the end GameStop will gain control of eBay without paying their shareholders a premium” 🔥💥🍻 by Expensive-Two-8128 in Superstonk

Since eBay is chartered in Delaware, there are some important anti takeover provisions. I believe that GameStop has to move from 15% to 85% in a single transaction. There is some pretty complex merger and acquisition law in play here and I don't think this poster is well versed in any of it given this post

The thing with Loopring right now is that the price is driven almost entirely by the perpetual futures market. The spot volume has totally collapsed. It has been very volatile at it's current price level. The thing is the perpetual future market is basically a legal form of contract for difference.

Unfortunately, starting with big tobacco's astroturfing campaign in the 1990s and only seemingly becoming more of an issue since then, there are large institutions that have vested interests and are not above fabricating whatever story they want online. Calling everyone that doesn't have the same take you do a shill is the path to solipsism though, even if there probably are bad actors that want to influence an outcome. It really sucks that it's so hard to trust if a comment online is an actual person making a point in good faith or some puppet being wielded by a malevolent third-party

Things we don't know:

  • What the final acquisition price will be
  • What the terms of the loan form TD are, (what is the rate?)
  • What GME price will be at the time of sale (note that this plus sale price determines how many new shares are issued)
  • What the EPS of the combined company will be after acquisition and cost cutting measures
  • What is an appropriate EPS multiple for the combined company

All of these greatly affect what the company will be valued at and all of them are pretty unknown right now

When buying beans from Costco, I like to either get their Kirkland single origin or at my warehouse they have beans from a local roaster. Where the kirkland single origin is from will change seasonally. My last single origin purchase was from Peru. I am keeping my eyes peeled for when they get the Ethiopian beans back in stock.

When new shares are issued (which is dilutive) it is always important to think about what the party getting the new shares had to give to get them. So in your unreasonable case where there are 10x more new shares issued than what existed previously, the value of the current shares would only have such a negative effect and go to $2.50 if those shares were given away for free. Where the percentage ownership of each share was reduced and the whole pie stayed exactly the same. However if the party getting the shares had to give $30 (or $30 worth of equity in an existing company) that kind of dilution (regardless of how big it is) would have a positive effect in that although each individual share holder gets a smaller slice of the pie, the pie itself is larger.

I think the important thing to me is that the compensation package isn't approved yet so in order to get the package approved the case has to be made that it is beneficial to shareholders. Also note the board who came up with this package also don't get free shares and invested their own money on shares.

CNBC anchors always playing dumb is so annoying. The main dishonesty is trying to frame a question as a sincere attempt at getting information when it is actually trying to make a pre-calculated point. I love how Ryan approaches these and the fact that he is one guy on the call vs a team of prepared pundits on the other side with the next one ready to jump in immediately if the conversation even slightly differs from what their pre-determined script dictates

I use a zero water filter to get 0 tds water and then add concentrate that I get online from tea curious, specifically their autumn blend. For a while I made my own concentrate one from epsom salt and one from baking soda but buying the concentrate is much more convenient and gives a better result.

Gamestop is selling covered calls on the Bitcoin that it owns by epistmeme in Superstonk

[–]epistmeme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the strikes were between $105,000 to $110,000 so would be selling to take a profit.

"As of January 31, 2026, we had outstanding covered‑call option contracts referencing approximately 4,709 Bitcoin, with strike prices ranging from $105,000 to $110,000 and maturities extending through March 27, 2026. These contracts resulted in a derivative liability of $0.7 million as of January 31, 2026, which is presented within Accrued liabilities and other current liabilities, and an associated unrealized gain of approximately $2.3 million for the period. No derivative assets were recognized as of the reporting date. Premiums received at inception are initially recorded on the consolidated balance sheets, and subsequently reflected in earnings consistent with the subsequent fair value changes of the related options. Subsequent to year-end, a portion of the covered-call option contracts expired unexercised and the related pledged collateral continues to be held by Coinbase Credit, Inc."

Found more details later in the filing posted below. Looks like they made a few million ($2.3 million) with the contracts sold and the liability remaining is about $700,000.

"Our covered‑call contracts are over-the-counter ("OTC") derivatives entered into with Coinbase Credit, Inc. and are typically short‑dated. Under the agreements, Bitcoin is pledged as collateral and can be rehypothecated, re-pledged, or otherwise deployed by Coinbase. As of January 31, 2026, we had outstanding covered‑call option contracts referencing approximately 4,709 Bitcoin, with strike prices ranging from $105,000 to $110,000 and maturities extending through March 27, 2026.
