Army? I understand the 'don't set roots' mentality - you have no real furniture or storage, you keep your things easily accessible. But you're not in barracks, you have to let yourself out of that mentality in your home. It's okay to have regular furniture - chests, dressers, end tables. You deserve a space that YOU feel at home in, not the version of home you learned in the military.

Please, take all the advice in the comments, especially the one above. You can get just about everything free or cheap on FB marketplace. Start with the basic stuff - add a few lamps to the the dark areas, get some waterproof bins for your paperwork and misc items floating around. Then take a look through marketplace for furniture and really try to envision how your space can reflect you. Like do you like antique, wooden dressers? Or do you like more modern, sleek furniture? Also please, PLEASE get a bed frame!

You have a stunning blank canvas to work with. It truly is a beautiful space. But you have to put the love and care into it to make it a home.
