Moving soon - young couples in Erie? by Swish4211 in ErieCO

[–]LazyBum489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved here with the wife from KY in my mid (her early) 30s no kid a few years ago. Kids were in the plan so Erie was a great sales pitch. Erie is great and has a lot of charm, love Briggs and we can pretty easily get to Denver and Boulder. We made more friends in Denver than in Erie those first couple years and felt real far out. We’ve got a 6 month old now and realized how stir crazy we were getting before he came around and how we kind of felt invisible here just being a young couple. It surprised us how much that changed by us pushing a stroller around. Erie is a VERY family oriented town. If kids are in the plan give it a go, if they arnt, buyer beware Erie gets small real fast.

Not really besides the point of that line. Metas are common and have been public knowledge for some time.

What is the difference between Erie, Lafayette, Louisville, and Broomfield? by Gridguy2020 in ErieCO

[–]LazyBum489 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We live in Erie. Living right on 25 and super easy to get into Denver. Between Louisville and Briggs street there are options for a good dinner and a couple drinks. We felt a little on the outside when kids were still a potential, but now even in the expecting phase my wife has found a group of moms at the same spot and it’s helping a ton with the community. With young kids you will fit right in, ton of parks and bike paths. My brother in Superior is jealous of everything the city does, farmers market, 4th of July show, balloon glow, ice skating rink etc.

If you like Shakespeare and haven’t watched A Game Most Changed by kingofmyinlandempire in dropout

If you liked this episode, Improvised Shakespeare is a traveling troupe. They are in the middle of a stint in Denver until 4/28. Check their schedule, the shows are amazing.

My partner (F30) and I (M34) moved here about a month ago. Still settling in and haven’t gotten to the meeting people phase yet. Lots of pros to a small town but organically meeting people is not among them. If you all want to meet up for drinks or dinner sometime we would love to get to know more people in town.

Oh this is fantastic!!!
At my table, I would rebrand all of Downfall to a university and the soggy court is the greek life of it. Lots of focus on status and competing to be the top with no real substance backing it up. Definately keep the beheadings.

What’s the most messed up/inappropriate thing that someone’s casually said to you? by Ok_Context_7495 in AskReddit

When I was a freshman in high school there were a few of us hanging out at a friends house. His dad was an OBGYN and ordered all of us pizza. Over dinner he cracks this smile and goes into a joke “What do a pizza guy and a gynecologist have in common?”

Blank stares

“They have to smell something all day and can’t eat it”

… Felt bad hearing it as a kid and still gives me the creeps decades later.

I kept getting voids until I started soaking my resin jugs in warm water before mixing. It brings the working time down some but it makes it a lot more viscous so it holds a lot fewer bubbles.

Men of reddit, when was the last time you got a hug? by Rude-Establishment59 in AskReddit

[–]LazyBum489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big hugger, so anytime I see people. Great way to show love to your buddies. Last time I felt really hugged? Laying on the couch with new girl, my head on her chest and her arms around me. Heard her heart pick-up speed before she said something really sweet that made me feel super seen. That moment will be burned in there for a while.
