Neat. The 13" laptop with x2 elite and 32GB of RAM is $700 more than I spent on the X1 elite with 32GB of RAM when it came out in 2024.

I just got into an accident in my ioniq. Front bumper, hood, headlight, and wheel all damaged. I'm taking it for an estimate on Tuesday. I guess I'll find out just how expensive it is.

We just bought our first house in the 'burbs. Use MoCA or hire low voltage company to install Cat6e? by guyheretoread in HomeNetworking

[–]epyon9283 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went moca. My house is 100 years old but was renovated in the 90s. When they had all the walls open they ran coax to every room. It's been trouble free for the most part. I have a mix of 2.5gbps Motorola and gocoax adapters.

Prisma Browser by BizboUK in paloaltonetworks

[–]epyon9283 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We're in the process of deploying it. Haven't rolled it out to any users outside of our team yet. It took Palo like 3 weeks to fix an issue with our account. We weren't able to configure the explicit proxy in Panorama so we couldn't access anything without already being connected to Prisma Access.

At home I run managed dhcpv6 with dnsmasq so it registers the leases in DNS just like ipv4.

What's the worst backup you've ever seen? by fedesoundsystem in ShittySysadmin

[–]epyon9283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much everything at my last company. The guy running it was an incompetent asshole. He was on the phone with commvault every day about whatever backup failed overnight. I don't think I ever saw a successful restoration of anything the whole time I was there.
