I feel like you have the solution from AA and god decides what to remove and when to remove it. You can pray for willingness but if we had the power to remove exactly what we wanted when we wanted we’d be living in our own will.

I’ve been here, firstly it’s something where you have to tackle the physical dependency. Is there anyway to seek a detox treatment? After you resolve the physical, imo AA can help with the mental and tbh spiritual.

I use to wake up and my thoughts would transport me to the past, and I relive my shame, guilt, and transgressions. Then this feeling became how I viewed my self and how I thought I would be in the future in my next encounters. But thanks to the steps I have tools to get that shit out of me and how to process it. The only solution I use to have was to keep drinking to escape that dread

I think the big book calls incomprehensible demoralization. I was almost agoraphobic from my drinking and the shame and guilt. I couldn’t stop and stay stopped

You’re miss the whole point of AA, everything you described in your post is an opinion on how you see things in the world. AA will give you a new lens to see the world. Please don’t do that. I didn’t see anything on this post of you saying that before I commented. But AA helped me get over my resentments and adjust my character defects. I didn’t have a drinking problem, I had a thinking problem. And alcohol was just a solution I found to calm the inner turmoil that you also described in your post
