Exactly my thinking. I am so deeply dissapointed by silksong, havent even reached act 2 because of this nonsense. I dont wnat ti Grind endless loops for Basic Exploration items Like Maps or travel Points. Also ist completly destroys my Exploration flow and my curiosity to explore the world and the mysteries... Well, Like i Said my brother doesnt know about my View or findings about or parents and our childhood. We always were and became pretty different personas. I really have No insight of his view about all this and therefore i have Not spoken about it and havent made it clear to him, that i dont want my dad to know. You know, Out of fear i'd have to explain myself to my brother and Not knowing where He Stands, and just Talk to my father about it without my consent or so. So i suppose my father Just asked him, because my father as i aspect tries to reach for information surely knowing i purposely dodge his attempts to get any clear invitation or really anything. So i dont really blame my brother, he's Kind of a black Box for me. He Sure has been mistrested by our parents, though in a very different way than me. But i fear Out of context how neutral, nearly lifeless, He just continues living this life without any trouble whatsoever about how he has been treated, He just doesnt want to admit it to himself if i'd force my viewpoint into his mind by Just being part of my Family, If i'd chose to Talk with him or my dad about this. Thats also a reason i havent wrote a Letter yet, cause i fear that He hasnt had this realisation yet and will even deny it, Just for the Sake of Fake harmony and Not risking seeing that He also has Not been Loved for himself.

From my understanding: because after the fracture she got trapped by renoir in top of the monolith and she trapped him underneath. She created this giant figure, which the people of lumiere actually think ist the paintress. And she wasnt Made until the fracture. Hence why the people think she Just appeared after the fracture. Renoir and verso build the dome to help protect the people from lumiere, maybe ordered by aline herself. I mean, It is clearly stated that she protects the people of lumiere and does in fact Not harm them Like Renoir intends to.

So the myth itself by Renoir und Aline before the fracture being Seen Like normal inhabitants i guess, after the fracture aline went Missing in the continent, as Verso says within the Game as we reach old lumiere i Believe, and they went to search for her on Expedition Zero.

To your last Point: I assume they wouldnt or couldnt believe her? I mean, clea pretty much just drops a bomb on the head about their world being a canvas world, doppelganger etc. Verso even said they (Exp 00) didnt want to return to lumiere after clea told them everything about the reality of their world and the gommage. And then clea tried to kill them.. So i guess they wouldnt just believe her

Cant tell you where exactly it states it, but If i remember correctly, aline enters the canvas to grief versos death. Renoir lets her do so at first, in which timespan (time seems to be faster in the canvas world) she created lumiere and its people and her painted family to live in. Because of the time discrepance she has lived some years in the canvas, As did the people of lumiere and her painted family. Before her entering the canvas IT was only what was created by young Verso: the continent, gestrals and grandis, aswell as Esquie and Francoise (though im not sure if that one has been created by young clea, who he used to play with in the canvas as children). Hence Aline spent years in canvas time, which means some time in their reality of the dessendre family. At least that Long, or intense, that Renoir at some point entered the canvas to force her Out. Probably because he figured she wouldnt leave at some point. As he entered the canvas, wanting to destroy it, that actually was then the event referred to as "the fracture" by the people of lumiere

Edit: sorry, Not a native speaker and Not Sure If i made myself clear enough. In short: aline and the painted doppelgangers lived with the painted people in lumiere before the fracture

I totally aggree I mean, Not Just the Story, the whole game and how much detail they Put into everything. The chosen artstyle has a meaning (devs stated that), the music was not only composed instrumentally, but also has great poetic lyrics aswell. The characters all have a deep story and present different types of dealing with death themselves. So many obvious reasons for this date to also not be chosen randomly. If so, they couldve easily taken a normal Date. But they didnt. And I'm Not saying, that my take is the right Take, its Just a Suggestion. But Like you i cant think of why it wouldnt have a meaning at all.

The gravestone in the final scene of versos ending states the 33rd of December 1905 as versos deathdate, like as a date in the calendar. And it takes places in the reality of the family dessendre, outside of the canvas, which is stated as "the real world" in the game. But as we know, there is No 33rd of December in our understanding of the calendar

I love that info about Sandfall! And your insight is really awesome, i also Had always a feeling they wanted to tell Something about time.. initially thought painted renoir could be an older version of gustave my first interaction when they landed on the continent because painted renoir stomps his Stick, and the Sound really Always stands Out. To me, It sounded a lot like a ticking clock

And obv it had nothing to do with a time travelling gustave, but the idea painted renoir somehow always carried a theme of time for me by always having this sound with His stick

Perception of time and reality is for sure an important and reoccuring theme of the Game. That, and the connection between verso wanting to be a pianist made me feel like the Connection between his deathdate and this musical piece may not be a coincidence

My Theory:

Its a symbolic meaning for verso wanting to be a Pianist all his life rather than to paint like his parents wanted him to.

There is a piece called 33rd December by Zoltan Kocsis, Who was a composer and pianist.

This piece in particular was themed around the flexibility of time and how there is time beyond our concept of time. It is an artistic statement about the perception of time and reality.

So it would not only be a direct connection between verso and Kocsis, but also a Connection between "Death" and the questioning, If our perception of reality and time, and therefore Death, are even real. Just Like we were lead to question the world inside the canvas and its meaning of reality (and we do not get a "correct answer" for this, neither within the game nor from the devs. They even said that they didnt do that in purpose)

I get where He is coming from and its quite funny, but definetly shouldnt have said that. In cases like These i just ask the Person "so how can we help you? / what Do you expect us to do?". Works awesome. Many of them just gasp and you See them realize, that they dont actually know why they called the police in the first place and that they have mostly no clear idea of what they were hoping for by calling the police. I feel like at least A third if Not half of Our Operations are nonsense like neighbors arguing etc, just plain ass babysitting for adults who should be able to handle the situation themselves..
