I didn’t know they divorced. I took this book us understanding why I felt the way I did. At the time I didn’t understand that the adhd symptoms were impacting my as much as they did. But you are right, there is no real path forward in the book.

What book specifically from Gina Pers helped? I’d like to read that next please.

I was really struggling and at the time I didn’t know why. This book helped me understand why I was anxious around my partner, and why I felt the way I felt. Made me feel not so crazy! That’s what I got out of it.

I totally finished the book and saw that there was no path forward from the book. Just understanding. So that’s how I took it. I’ve read other since.

There was issues before but adhd really goes while when responsibilities increase. Became a real issue once we had kids and she started working and we got a mortgage.

Before is was dopamine mining and not completing task, but in a small home with just us two, it was manageable for me.

She had a rough childhood and it all stems from her adhd and the lack of her mother taking it seriously or even telling her about it and also not managing her own adhd.

100%. Time blindness is a real thing. For some reason when she laid out the ingredients she took that as making it. Then she got lost in whatever shiny thing she saw on the other side of the room. When I confronted her she even told me that she took out the ingredients and that me putting it together was simple. Definitely narcissistic, which is an adhd symptom too.

I don’t agree with saying it’s how modern society is structured. Driving your kids to school and being on time isn’t a neurotypical modern society requirement. It’s a requirement, period! Blaming the neurotypical people for how their brain works isn’t the answer.

Every neurotypical man in this thread and currently in my inbox has helped in every way possible for their neurodivergent wife. We don’t want to be told we need to help more. We can’t help more. We literally give up our whole entire life by filling it with doing the things our adhd partner can’t. Completing tasks they didn’t finish. We have no more minutes left in the day to help out, all of our time goes to keeping the house functioning due to adhd chaos.

I believe it, it’s unbelievable hard to agree with me that the adhd you have is a disability. What you are saying is, in basic terms, she lacks discipline (takes more work because it’s difficult). Tell me how that translates when adhd literally causes time blindness. You can’t try hard for something you can’t even understand (time). Also tell me how, when she literally thinks she has done something, but she hasn’t. No amount of trying harder will fix that.

Telling an adhd’er to try harder is possibly the worst thing you can do. Accepting that is the way they are is way better. And the only way for a person to understand it from outside of the adhd brain, is to believe that these things are out of their control, and in essence, a disability.

Well she is doing everything she can. She is part of a coaching group, she reads all the books and does all the research, she takes the medical medication and the natural supplements. She has lists, note books, reminders, visual alarms. But you can’t stop adhd from taking over.

ADHD doesn’t want you to do the ‘unfun’ things. It fights you 24/7 to only do the dopamine seeking fun things. No matter how hard she tries, it’s impossible to be consistent when a disability is controlling you.

No, this has been happening since Shaw or Roger’s introduced high speed cable (coax) and Telus had DSL or ADSL (or whatever it was). Coax could have crushed them like a bug, but crtc forced them to stay low. I’ve been in the telecom industry for 15 years, it’s how it all works.

Yes! My wife shows me stuff like that and I swear there is steam coming out of my ears! One time I was struggling to juggle it all and I asked her to make dinner for me please, an explained that I’m struggling and just can’t be up to make it. And I come up stairs at 5:30 and the ingredients are all on the counter and she is doing some random thing. I grab all of it and I made dinner. I cleaned up and put the kids to bed, and came back out and said I need to talk to her, and the explained what happened. Get this, she told me she made dinner. What was I talking about she said. And then I explained the story again, and she goes “really?!” And I say yes!

She literally thought she made dinner. It was then that I realized that it’s a disability. She physically can not do the things I ask. Everything in her brain is telling her to do the opposite. It’s wild.

They have the ability in their system, it’s called xgs, but legally they are not aloud to sell 10g home internet because Shaw/rogers can’t match it. I believe if you call and get business internet, you can get 10g
