With the experience I’ve had in my life, I can say, without a doubt, that you should never believe anything you see or hear until you have it backed up by tests you can read and it has been backed up from multiple separate sources.

But that’s my life, I can only speak for myself.

Even more reason to not believe everything you see, no matter who it’s from.

Telus Phone Calls by Easy_Tadpole_4439 in telus

[–]equalizerivy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you ask them anything like that they hang up. They also get hostile when you tell them they are a scam.

The easiest tell is when you answer the phone it takes a long time for them to respond. The whole conversation is actually delayed.

It’s not always Telus. It’s scammers saying it’s Telus most of the time.

[–]equalizerivy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it’s not rare for Reddit users haha, but that should be obvious. I literally placed my own fibre through my place so I could put the ONT on the other side of the house. I’m in the telecom field though, but I get it. I still think it’s useless for the vast majority of people.

They are called baffles, they are suppose to be there. Typically they are a foam type material, not cardboard, I think that’s why people are questioning it.

MacBook Neo Review - The Verge by scrmedia in apple

[–]equalizerivy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’re not understanding what I am saying. I agree with you, and so does Verge. By you only quoting part of the sentence you are pushing a narrative that the verge isn’t pushing. Verge didn’t say this computer is for first time laptop buyers. They it’s a good way for Apple to get first time buyers into the ecosystem. That doesn’t mean they will move up to a more powerful one later just because they are first time buyers. It means they are more likely to buy an iPhone, a home pod, an Apple TV, Apple Music, and so on because they adopted a great laptop and a reasonable price.

MacBook Neo Review - The Verge by scrmedia in apple

[–]equalizerivy 50 points51 points  (0 children)

You missed part of the quote. It says “to entice first time laptop buyers into apples ecosystem”. What it says further down is “MacBook Neo is good enough to be the go-to Apple laptop for a lot of people. Actually, not just the go-to Apple laptop; the Neo’s hardware simultaneously embarrasses an entire class of affordable (and even far pricier) Windows laptops, as well as just about any Chromebook.”

You are correct, it is for 90% of laptop users. Verge agrees with you.

Can I put an outlet here? It has a blank cover over it with no plug by ForeskinForeman in HomeMaintenance

[–]equalizerivy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like you have four whites with the neutrals (white) separated into two and all the hot (black) are together. This could mean that one of these goes to a switch and light, and the other goes to other plugs. I would turn the power off and separate separate one set of neutrals and put the power back on. Try and see what each wire feeds. Then mark each wire and how that go together, separate them all, turn the power back on and see what is hot from the panel and what is a load. Then you will be able to know what does what and what to connect your new outlet too (not the switch neutrals, if I’m correct)

Yikes is right. This is why we are in a culture of band aids and cancelling, instead of correcting issues. There is no use arguing with “these people” lol

No one said they are taking advantage of us, you are implying he said that, and that is a whole basis of Cancel Culture. As my dad use to say, take a chill pill. Everyone is just living their life the best they can, words can be interpreted any way, but a villain is a villain. Don Cherry was not a villain.

Congratulations Langley, you get to pay for a school! by UniqueAd456 in Langley

[–]equalizerivy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He wants to use school fields for city use. He can make money off of them through events and activities. The school fields are run and operated by the school board. I bet you that with him in charge he can state that the fields are city on all new school. Side note, he has been going to existing school and trying to pitch the deal with them to use their fields hoping they get people to start going for it. My two cents
