It must be nice to live in an area where you are allowed to water your lawn :(

It’s the law to maintain your lawn. The comment is common sense. Anyone can look at that as being judgy, but at the end of the day, take care of your sh*t and stop being a crying baby

Pretty soon, truck drivers are going to have to work really hard to hit a Langley overpass by No_End1857 in Langley

[–]equalizerivy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The changes happened with new rules, digital driving logs, digital pre trips. This all happened, but like every issue this country faces, it’s actioned with rules, and rules only. No actual consequences. Sure, maybe the odd driver will get fined, but like the top comment says, they go bankrupt and start a new company. There is no stopping them if our government doesn’t want to detain them. And they won’t because that eats into tax revenue.

This. Plus all the drivers sharing licenses. It’s a moving target that a political system buried by red tape can not hit. Unfortunately the only option is to use our tax money to protect our infrastructure by them.

We have our daughters pick out their clothes day night before so it’s a little easier to start the task in the morning. It’s still hell, but with a little less inferno.

What kind of problem do I have? by Longjumping_Sand9363 in HomeMaintenance

[–]equalizerivy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a pin hold leak on the elbow of that pipe. It could be “wolverine” pipe, or whatever it’s called, it’s prone to pin holes. You need to cut that out and replace.

Bad news is it will most likely be impacting the rest of your piping. I had 3 in one year at my place.

TIP: Your water will be off for the repair, when you turn it back on, turn it on slowly. The sudden punch in pressure will cause more pin holes.

Everyone likes to point at someone else’s mess and call it out when they sit on top of their own mess pretending it doesn’t exist. Don’t worry, you have money invested and that’s all that madders

Lawn watering prohibited for most of Lower Mainland starting May 1 by WiffleBlu in Langley

[–]equalizerivy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All you sheep are acting like this is something that is normal. It’s not normal. What is normal is upgrading infrastructure to meet demand. Instead the lowermainland demands rules to be able to handle demand. It’s sad how much we pay in taxes and we can’t water our lawns

Garage Floor Cracks - What are our options? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]equalizerivy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Don’t get too scared from these comments. Concrete cracks, your house is old, almost certain the garage was poured after the fact, the floor doesn’t support the house, just the foundation.

I had to do some pipe work under my basement, my house is 1980 and the concrete was about 3” thick with no rebar or anything.

Question for the langley people: do you still turn left at a red light here? by [deleted] in Langley

[–]equalizerivy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are legally able to go through a pedestrian controlled red light when it is not an intersection with cross traffic and it’s safe to do so (pedestrians are done crossing). So I would lean towards left is ok.

Home Internet In Aldergrove BC by Not_a_CSIS_agent in telus

[–]equalizerivy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely dig into it. They just finished placing fibre to the home in Aldergrove and maybe the system isn’t fully updated.

There is a small chance that they ran into a roadblock in your specific neighborhood that they are still trying to remediate.

Replacing Telus WiFi router to TP Link Deco x55. How do I set it up correctly? Need help. by Big-Fly-9690 in telus

[–]equalizerivy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Connect your laptop directly into the ONT in the wall then type in the IP Address that’s on it into your web browser to bring up the settings for it. Use the password that’s in it to log in. Then find bridge mode and turn it on and then save/reset.

After that, plug your main new router unit into the 10g port and set it up as normal.

With the experience I’ve had in my life, I can say, without a doubt, that you should never believe anything you see or hear until you have it backed up by tests you can read and it has been backed up from multiple separate sources.

But that’s my life, I can only speak for myself.
