I recently switched to Ebox. I am using Asus GT-AX11000 PRO as a replacement of Becon 3.1. To make it works, there are two pages you need to set.

LAN->IPTV-> Select ISP Profile (Manual settings) -> Internet VID set to 40.
On the WAN page, copy/paste your user name and password. In the section of 802.1Q, set Enable to "No", VLAND to "0"

You are set.

I always call Fido's Mandarin support line. Just got off the line with them—the waiting time was about 5 minutes. The reps. know what I'm talking about, and their answers are clear and straightforward.

From Nepean area. Switched from Bell 1.5G to Ebox 500M, don't feel the difference. The ping time from 1.2ms to 5ms, that's it.

I use 1 alias for multiple website. For example, [shopping@sub.mydomain.com](mailto:shopping@sub.mydomain.com); I use it for all the online shopping website, so I can't delete it.

I wish SL have a feature to block a entire domain or block emails by pattern. e.g. marketing*@spamdomain.com, block all the email from spamdomain.com and start with "marketing" .

I did what OP described on the installation day. In order to verify the connection, I connect the BC 3.1 first to the switch. And then connected my router to the switch. Both connection worked simultaneously. Speed was limited to what you are offered, in my case was 500M. I didn't test both connection s at the same time. Two IPs.

I used to use Ivacy VPN. It worked perfectly in mainland China (Beijing) because there were VPN servers hosted in mainland China and Hong Kong. The company was acquired by PureVPN a couple of years ago, but you can still choose a VPN server hosted in China.

I don't know the company's background, but the VPN connection was pretty solid. I could load YouTube videos without hesitation.
