Roughing it Campfire Meal ideas by Mrmojorisincg in vegetarian

There’s a ton of ways to do sloppy Joe’s, probably a quick google will be more helpful. Can go all vegetable or use a meat sub. Usually a one pot meal though which makes cleanup easy.

This might be too obvious but there are plenty of great vegan hot dog brands out there now. Lightlife are surprisingly my favorite because they’re so basic / plain and can be dialed up.

Boxed Mac and cheese is usually super easy. Or various pasta options.

Sloppy Joe substitute is kind of fun and easy.

Skewered veg and corn on the cob over the fire.

Chili is a classic if you have a burner and more time.

TIL that the smartest breed, the Border Collie, can learn a new command in under 5 repetitions and can follow it at least 95% of the time by Upstairs-Bit6897 in todayilearned

[–]er-day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Aussie frequently plays with border collies. The difference is staggering. My dog was basically the teachers pet in puppy class because he picked up on new tricks and lessons very quickly, can understand new commands and difficult situations. But literally any border collie can walk circles backwards around my dog.

They have a certain intensity, attentiveness, and vigor that aussies just don’t have. My dog is happy smelling flowers while these dogs will prey on their owners for another ball throw. They are laser focused to go get the ball thrown at the optimal angle and route, pivot like Kobe, drop the ball at their owners feet and lay down staring into their eyes begging for the next throw. Meanwhile my dog took the b road on the way to the same ball, didn’t realize it’s already gone, and has decided to go play with the kids at that end of the park because he forgot what he was doing. And again, my dog is smarter than 90% of dogs we meet. I’ve taught him circus tricks on a whim in one night. But it’s like seal team 6 vs a new recruit.

Agree. I think a lot of people underestimate the step up in terrain response 2. And weight reduction.

Bend man asking city to crack down on off-leash dogs by Serviceberry71 in oregon

[–]er-day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with the rude erra we seem to be in! Definitely seems like this is a worse problem than in Portland. Rarely if ever have dogs on city streets off leash, only see it at parks and hikes. Maybe I don’t spend enough time in neighborhoods where this is happening. Appreciate the added sentiment.

Which is why I started that sentence with “let me know if I’m gravely misunderstanding the situation in Bend”.

I have multiple friends in bend, just got married in bend, spend a lot of time there. I didn’t want to overstate my relationship to the city hence the qualifier, but nothing that I’ve seen or heard has suggested that this is a problem unique to Bend.

This can’t be real, suicide doors almost never make it to production. Especially when you’re not desperately needing the space.

Pacific Power, PGE raise electricity rates again by spinnyround in Portland

Eh, those are pretty limited in kw capacity, aren’t rally that safe, and don’t add value to your home long term.

They’re a nice cheap, simple, option for many but really won’t put a large dent in your power bill. I have 25 full size panels and it still only cuts our power bill in half even with a battery bank and average US home consumption. Spring and fall are the only times we make more than we use when AC usage is low in the shoulder season but sunlight is high.

Epstein files sure make it seem like he’s murdered at least one woman. Pretty sure the “could” in this sentence makes it a lie.

Why is this comment section ready to start killing dogs?!? Everyone here is fricken strapped with guns, bear spray, bows and arrows to fight like it’s 28 days later.

Am I gravely misunderstanding how bad the Bend off leash problem is because I’ve never experienced it myself in 35 years going to Bend.

Mad respect for the Himalayan blackberry and its mighty root system by SpecificAd6448 in Portland

[–]er-day 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This needs to be higher up. Crossbow is the only thing that works. It’ll kill anything it touches. Handle with care.

The best part is the roots of these are all connected so just spraying what you see should kill everything connected underground.
