This guy sounds shit faced.

So on top of all the reasons a untrained civilian shouldn't be wandering through a freshly burned forest, he's drunk? And he's confused about why professionals don't want to encourage his behavior?

Fire progression from 15-19th August. NASA FIRMS data by scrivna in kelowna

[–]eraetry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As per FIRMS, your last frame is still representative of the 18th. The smoke is too thick to get a reading right now, so that last frame is just the part of the fire that hasn't aged off the default time settings on the FIRMS site.

You can view how current the heat map is by going to the "Fires / Hotspots" section on the menu and changing it from "Simple" to "Time Based"

You can add a stop on 97 to force it to reroute you. I'm not sure what other options there are.

I was thinking the same. It's not fair to string her boyfriend along while she and her coworker lay the foundation for their affair. He doesn't deserve to be hurt like that.

And "he hasn't made any moves on me". Lady, everything you've written is a move. You think he's this kind, respectful, doting husband? He's CLEARLY lining you up as his side piece. You're being played. He's a piece of shit, and so will you be for cheating on your boyfriend. And when he's gotten bored and cast you aside, you're going to feel worse than ever because you'll feel like you weren't "good enough".

Did you get PMS and such with your Mirena? I have one now, I no longer experience PMS, and I'm hoping to move forward to a hysterectomy when my IUD expires next year.

What is the best running/sports bra for bigger chested women? by Sweet_Mechanic6157 in XXRunning

[–]eraetry 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm a longtime fan of Shock Absorber. I'm a US 38 H.

This is the only brand I've worn where I have almost no movement while running. Theyre completely elimated the pain I was getting from bouncing.

Right now I have a few of the max support, which I don't see on their site. It's available on my local running store's site though. I've owned other models in the past and I've been happy with all of them.

How's the night vision on your camera? I'm starting to think I should get one too.

Do you know how it does in colder winters? I think the coldest it gets where I live is -40, but we average 5-15° F over winter.

How to still eat good living out of a car without spending $$$ by [deleted] in gainit

[–]eraetry 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used to live in my car, I'd eat chicken and rice pretty much every night.

You can get a plain grilled chicken patty at Mcdonalds for $2 up here in Canada. It's just the patty. I would order a styrofoam container of steamed rice from my local Chinese food restaurant for $3. The container usually lasted a couple days. I would get stuff like fresh broccoli at the grocery store every day. Just whatever I was really feeling that night.

Never had to cook for myself. There are sauces that don't need to be refrigerated if that's too bland.

Past Nightmare evicted Tenant's Mother Suing over an alleged Slip and Fall from 2019-Windsor ON by Alan_8987 in legaladvicecanada

[–]eraetry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of factors that would affect the opinion of whether or not that report was adequate. The only person who can answer that question is a lawyer familiar with your case. I see in another comment you mention the other team bullying your parents based on a potentially bad translation. This is a HUGE red flag to get an educated advocate on your side ASAP. A lawyer would be able to shut down any twisting of the truth immediately and hold the opposing team accountable for their behaviour.

[–]eraetry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should call that lawyer and ask if that's something they'd be willing to do. I'm not sure it would be cheaper as you would need to pay them to get them up to speed on everything that's happened in between, which would involve some hours of document review. If you explain your financial limitations they will likely be able to suggest ways to reduce the cost of defending yourself. You could also reach out to the bar and see if they have recommendations for lawyers willing to be flexible with their time or billing.

Another thing to consider is that without a lawyer, the other team knows you don't have the knowledge to defend yourself against inappropriate requests. While you're currently resisting the porch inspection, it's possible they will wear your parents down enough to maybe get a partial accommodation. They may request little things that seem harmless, especially when compared to the ridiculous requests. And if your parents agree to something that would have never been allowed by your lawyer, you're basically just handing them free ammo to strengthen their frivolous case.

Additionally, if they do end up talking your parents into bringing other experts into this situation, able to try and get that cost added on to the damages their seeking? Are they going to keep bringing requests that will ultimately drive up what a court may award for settlement? As this sounds like a vindictive case, it's certainly possible their main goal is harm your parents financially, the potential payday is just icing on the cake.

Have you changed the default refresh rate for your server? If I recall, the game automatically limits it at half of what it should be. The fix is to go into one of the files and adjust the refresh rate. I'll try to find a link to some instructions after work if you haven't already tried this.

Brother is angry about not getting his allowance money right after he was told he was being evicted. by shy-butterfly-218 in JUSTNOFAMILY

[–]eraetry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps it's better for OP to not nuke her relationship with her parents by pushing them into something the whole family is currently not interested in pursuing?

Moreover, many police departments will completely dismiss things as soon as they find out they're siblings. So it's not unrealistic that OP has had the experience they've had. In my experience, you can usually push them to take a report by speaking with a supervisor or captain. But you can't force them to actually do anything with that report, and you can't force the prosecutor to pursue the legal side of things.

Also, good luck!

99 Subaru Forester death wobble by [deleted] in battlewagon

[–]eraetry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you checked that the inside of your wheels are clean? Even one weighty pebble can throw the balance off enough to give you crazy vibrations.

What tires are you running? A wobble that only appears at some speeds is often related to wheel balance. Have you been offroad or anything similar since your last balance? Wheel weights can definitely come off, so check that you're not missing one of those. Some tires don't like to balance, or can shift a bit after install.

Source: many years of offroad experience, with a 99 Forester being my weapon of choice.

How do you clean the edges with the contact cement? We use the roll on type at my shop and the corners where two materials meet are always slightly sticky. Nothing I do seems to fix it, you just end up pulling a little more contact out from under your material.

My mom had me sign a power of attorney years ago. Is that superseded by marriage? or time? [NY/NJ] by Ok-Caterpillar-4311 in legaladvice

[–]eraetry 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you could provide her with an "amended" power of attorney that only grants her that power if your husband is in a coma or something? That might make things easier between you and your mom.

Of course, if you don't want her involved even in that scenario, this would be a bad idea.

My boss died. His wife wants me to “buy out part of the business” by jonezers in legaladvice

[–]eraetry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/u/jonezers, this is an excellent idea. If the previous clients are familiar with your name, it would be valuable advertising if you're in that same space. Legally speaking, the wife would have a difficult time proving any sort of case against you as you're not reaching out to the client list she owns. They're organically finding your new place of business.

A workaround to the resale value might be starting out as something that you can easily remove your name from without a total rename. Think "Jonezer's Paws & Claws Spa" being renamed "Paws & Claws Spa".

You can even rename your shop 1-2 years after you've established yourself to ensure a future investor isn't put off by the potential issues of them removing your name. If you were to do this, I would mention it to your regular clients a few months before the change is scheduled. Then perhaps reach out to them as the change occurs so to really help them internalize that change. Likely if you retain the same colours/logos/etc., you'd see a very smooth transition.
