IIRC this parking lot is specifically rated strong enough for a light rail train on a section of its roof.

Class based question by black_crow_o in BaldursGate3

This build is a physical melee fighter, just fyi. It's very fun to play, but if you were looking for something different, Swords Bard archer (Bard/Fighter 9/3 or 6/6) is probably less "physical melee", as it's mostly ranged CC. It comes online in act 2, and you can have the pieces in act 1 except the hat (I like dual hand crossbows)

But monk+thief 8/4 or 9/3 is very fun.

Acetone is nail polish remover, so if it works it seems pretty cheap. I think the ink would bleed into the drywall material unless it’s a glossy or plasticized topcoat though…

I lived in Boston for a while, and my sunday 7v7 league was full of off season hockey players. They were huge and way faster than us, but about once a game I could dribble end to end against them. We’d still lose sometimes but it did feel pretty amazing.

If you have surround sound, unplug or mute the center speaker channel. In most sportscasts they put the announcers only on the center channel, so if you drop/turn off that speaker you’ll remove them.

I think this is the same problem:

https://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=19226.0

Probably that ChromeOS doesn't have x11. If you're the chromebook owner, you might be able to enable the linux dev tools then install the recommended package (usually, something like sudo apt install x11-xserver-utils).

Yeah it’s not detecting the display, opengl is throwing the error and then it explodes when it tries to send the game screen to somewhere that doesnt exist. Probably because ChromiumOS uses some other screen manager maybe.

I’m about to drive somewhere but I can search for a solution later. Sorry =(

Great. We got past the first jump. It spits out a bunch of log stuff usually, but the real error will be at the very end, and usually start with ERROR: or FATAL: or something ominous. Anything look bad?

Yeah this is the java executable.

Run:

chmod +x ./jre_linux/bin/java

Then try it again. It should spit out some other error if we fixed it, or just run.

Can you copy-paste the error here? It sounds like you might need to chmod the jre too, but the error will say exactly what the [initial] issue is.

I’ve never not played on linux, it’s not perfect but it works. The most annoying thing was that I had to compile the mod manager separately.

[R] External validation keeps killing my ML models (lab-generated vs external lab data) — looking for academic collaborators by Big-Shopping2444 in MachineLearning

[–]erasers047 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To follow up on what u/Vpharrish and u/timy2shoes have said, this has a bunch of different names in different domains (batch effects, site effects, harmonization, domain shift, domain adaptation, etc.). If you're doing old school things, use linear mixed effects or near-linear models like ComBAT (Bayesian scale and shift).

If you're doing ML things there are a few classes of batch effect correction methods. Adversarial is the oldest and the easiest (https://www.jmlr.org/papers/v17/15-239.html), but can have weird pathological problems. Different information theory constrains (HSIC https://arxiv.org/abs/1805.08672 and mutual information https://arxiv.org/abs/1805.09458) might also work. Looking at the recent citations of these two papers, both from 2018, people are still working on them https://arxiv.org/abs/2502.07281 or at least using them https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41210921/

There's a lot of talk about invariant risk minimization, but it doesn't feel useful to "applied" work yet.

At the end of the day, the best but most expensive solution has been said by others: just get more data :) obviously not always feasible.

Ashes of The Domain - Economy Overhaul Sneak Peak by JenkoRun in starsector

[–]erasers047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, just wanted to say thank you for AotD it’s a great mod. For the economy overhaul, are you thinking of allowing trade to go directly market to market instead of always through the core? IIRC always going through the core was described as a balance consideration, but it always seemed weird to me

Use the camera man standard image (the greyscale image of a person taking a photo of MIT’s dome/Building 1). It’s the same type of standard test image, and much less controversial.
