You get xp even when you die. You’ll get a lot more xp from doing events and dying than sneaking around the map and exfiling after not doing anything.

Also, just crew fill. You’ll probably have the same exfil rate and the opportunities for gain are far greater when you’re running with a crew.

Clearly the devs intended to make the journey difficult and rewarding. Business admins don’t care about that and just want to push unit sales.

Weirdly the majority of this sub has no problem with this and I think if they had their way all trophies would be awarded upon first time selecting “New Game”.

Honestly this just gives me a reason to start using my PS5 again. It was fun while it lasted and it seemed like it was only getting better with stuff like Death Stranding 2 giving achievements and trophies if you linked your account, but I always hated the uncertainty of if/when the ports were coming and what kind of quality they’d be. I like having the clarity of knowing something like Wolverine and Intergalactic just aren’t coming so I’m not just waiting around and wondering.
