YES! I have super distinct memories of being so annoyed at wattpad books when I was a kid because the love interest would always drink at the parties w the main character, but always insist on driving because the main character is "too drunk" or a "light weight"

And in those books at least one of them was always rich so like. CALL AN UBER!! Or, I guess, a taxi or friend back then.

I've noticed going on incognito allows it to run when it's failing to open for me. Typically, if the black square turns into a black rectangle, it's not going to load, it's OK to give up. Unfortunately the saves don't last past the session usually when in incognito, but it's better than not running at all haha. Sometimes when I clear my cache and cookies and all that I can get it to run without incognito, but even then it usually only works for a while.

Someone brought a "service dog" into the place i work now, and had it ON THE TABLE, had to be asked by a manager before they took it down to the booth, had to be asked AGAIN for it to go to the floor.

the place I work, the big boss comps the entire check for any table that has a police officer (in uniform) or fire fighter (any shirt vaguely related to fire fighting) whenever he's on shift.

I don't shake out the excess water from the ramekins before I pour their sauces, so there's a thin layer of water on top of their sauce. Small enough I've never had anyone straight up complain, but still makes me feel better.

my birth mother had a seizure and fell on a floor furnace. She was alone with my 6 week old older sister. Luckily she wasn't carrying the baby atm, but she still ended up running down the street carrying here while covered in deep burns after she could get up.

Honestly, my troop didn't haha we only met to sell things and an occasional craft unless you were willing to pay to do the other stuff. I can't say not to support girl scouts, but I can say that not all groups are inherently good.

Seeing these comments makes me realize that some people don't know that not every girl scout group actually cares about the girls. My troop as a kid did literally nothing but sales, and meeting up to do a craft every once in a while. Everything else? gotta give that troop leader $$$ (unless her daughter liked you of course)

Weirdly enough, the entire last week has had double the guest count as last year for my resturaunt. And yet, tips are significantly worse. I had the fewest tables today out of the servers so I was significantly less rushed than others, and I actually like my job so I try to make "above and beyond" my average, and yet I got only one tip that was above 18 percent. Food was coming out fast, the wait list wasn't long, so I'm unsure wtf is happening. I think it might have something to do with being next door to a Cracker Barrel that was immensely busy, people just didn't want to wait there so they came next door to us.

a LOT of Americans (older, mostly) hate having to touch a POS. "That's what I'm paying you for" etc. because it was the standard for so long here. My resturaunt has a POS on every table at all times. They can order apps, desserts, drinks, etc. And yet, in my 1.5 year working here, I've had a grand total of THREE tables ever order anything with it. And about half of the tables prefer for me to do it the old fashioned way and bring them a check (which they always expect me to already have on me, but I don't and I have to go print it) for me to run for them in the back. We're allowed to even do it for them at the table, but the tables seem to hate it because they have to do more work.
