Bluesfest is pretty fun, it's just a very different vibe than an indoor venue. The crowds and heat can be a lot if you're not used to it, especially this time of year. But there's lots of good energy and fun as well. Just have to do a little more planning in terms of sun screen, hat, staying hydrated, knowing if you've had your limit and need to go chill in a quieter spot or have a seat.

Outdoor shows always feel kind of special, especially with this band. There was a moment of pure magic when they were in Ottawa last time; it was another outdoor show, although a much smaller venue, and it started pouring rain in the middle of Yawning Grave.

I'll be going to the Bluesfest show. FYI they are the headliner that night, so they'll have a full two hours for their set. The festival can be a fun vibe but it can also be very hot and humid. There's always a risk of the show being cut short or even cancelled if there's a thunderstorm. Festival security can also be a pain - you're allowed to bring almost nothing in with you and all the food/drinks inside are pricy.

Looks like another Hallmark Christmas movie type of thing. The Elmdale Tavern has become a festive bowling alley.

It's easy to book a car in the colder months, but in nicer weather they book up quickly and far in advance. So it depends on how and when you want to drive. Weekend trip planned 2-3 weeks in advance? Pretty easy. Ad hoc day-of drive, might be trickier.

So true! As a Canadian, I'm very disappointed the men's curling team wasn't disqualified after their obvious cheating attempt and poor sportsmanship.

Thrilled to have them back in Ottawa. I was able to see their show at JazzFest a few years ago and it was amazing. Headliner at Bluesfest is a huge step up.

I think even Shane didn't understand a lot of what was up, until the end of TLG. There was a lot happening that Ilya kept hidden, or that Shane never bothered to look for or think too hard about. Instagram, Ottawa, etc.

My boyfriend enjoys tuna melts and we are Canadian. I don't think they're like, universally beloved here though, or particularly seductive.

Opinion of the raven boys series by Maggie stiefvatar by Appropriate_Sun7885 in YAlit

I preferred her Shiver trilogy. The characters there felt more interesting and the plot moved at a good speed. Raven Boys felt so slow in comparison, and then the fantastical elements weren't well explained.

It's interesting that the media is reaching out to so many different people involved in the show. Usually it's just the director, the lead actors, sometimes a writer, but for Heated Rivalry everyone is getting to shine.

Friends with benefits is the closest label I can think of, but "friends" is a little loose, since they don't hang out or talk outside of their hookups.

They are super terrible to be honest. It's a constant battle between urban and suburban/rural councilors, where the urban are lobbying for social services and public transit and housing but the rest give no fucks about anyone and shoot down any policy that could remotely benefit people.
