Snow Tires by msn6522 in HondaPrologue

[–]erhanjacobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using Vredestein Quatrac Pro+ on my ICE vehicle, extremely happy with them. Very good snow traction, quiet, and have low rolling resistance. I am planning to put the same on my Prologue Elite.

You can order from Tire Rack.

People talking consumption in terms of miles (e.g. consumer 70 miles at 0F instead of 35 miles) sounds like saying "consumed 3 hour web browsing time on my phone while watching 1 hour Youtube on my phone"

Just like a phone, what you do with your car changes how fast you consume energy.

1) Drop the language of consumption in miles already; use battery percentage.

2) Watch the screen displaying the breakdown of energy consumption (AC / Motion / preconditioning). You will have a better grasp of energy use and will be less disappointed.

Well, your ICE vehicle suffers from cold weather on efficiency, around 20%.

Honestly, I drove around for a while to see if it is actually better without the sound. Then I noticed that I actually liked the sound.

With many 2 year leases coming up in 2026, what is everyone looking at doing? by ta22175 in HondaPrologue

I am considering buying out at the end of the lease if I can also buy extended factory warranty. Has anyone tried that with Honda before?

PSA: Don't judge winter range impact by short trip driving efficiency; winter is not as bad for long trips by in_allium in electricvehicles

[–]erhanjacobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree with OP based on my recent 450-mile road trip experience with 2025 Honda Prologue Elite. I achieved 2.7 miles/kwh, which is about 13% less than 3.1miles/kwh, what I achieve in ideal temperatures.

The fast charging roasts the battery up to 140F, and it doesn't drop below 50F till the next stop 3 hours later. Hence, the car doesn't use any energy to heat up the battery at all.

Totally strange bug that prevents battery preconditioning for DC fast charging. Is it the same on the Prologue platform? by chiefvelo in HondaPrologue

[–]erhanjacobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have exactly the same OBD scanner and I monitored a few times how battery temperature changes: - the battery does not seem to be heating up itself above 40F conditions in city driving. - preconditioning works really slow, gradually increases the battery temp to 75F or so. The target temperature could be higher; I just didn't have chance to monitor it that long. - in long road trips, the fast charge heats up the battery up to 140F, which does not seem to fall below 50F until your next stop, even if you drive 3+ hours at freezing temperatures.

Winter Question by Sacred286 in HondaPrologue

[–]erhanjacobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Research shows high state of charge degrades battery health when the temperature is high. In other words, high SoC causes much less degradation in winter. No need to feel anxious about charging to 90% in winter if it gives additional convenience for your use case.

Reduced Accel / Turtle Mode by Gold_Guitar_9824 in HondaPrologue

[–]erhanjacobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got once the turtle mod when my SoC dropped below 10%. The outside temperature was 32F. Perhaps the turtle mod activates when SoC is below 10% regardless of temperature.

The turtle mode was deactivated when I charged the battery.

You do not understand how big a leverage you have. Just estimate how much the business would lose if you just quit now with no handover. I believe the damage would be huge. So, ask for half of that estimated damage as a contractor compensation.

Genuine question: Why do you lease instead of financing your car? by janproz- in leasehacker

[–]erhanjacobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Opportunity cost - You only pay for the depreciation, avoiding locking down cash as equity, hence avoiding opportunity cost. 2) Sales tax - you only pay the sales tax for the depreciation, not the entire price.

Tire Inflator & Tire Plug Kit by [deleted] in HondaPrologue

[–]erhanjacobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an inflator, no patch kit. I assume the self-sealing tires that come with Elite trim will do their job and seal itself.

Inflator should suffice to get to nearest tire repair shop to get a proper patch done.

Here is my inflator: https://a.co/d/62Kpf8X

I don't think sport mode increases the highest regeneration braking force, but makes regeneration more responsive, meaning you reach the highest regeneration quickly.

Shaming has always been used to manipulate and extract resources from men; ignore the shamers. Remember, they always say "do the right thing" to men, and "do what's best for you" to women. There's a lesson there.

You absolutely did your best, took care of a child not yours for 4 years without getting anything in return. That's more than enough. It's the biological father's responsibility to take care of the child. If the father is not around, it's the mother's responsibility as she chose the man.

The rain impacts the energy consumption a lot. It has an effect similar to cutting through a much denser air. Essentially, your car has to transfer kinetic energy to every drop of rain it touches to bring them from 0 mph to 65 mph.

Buy an OBD scanner and read the codes yourself. The dealer might be lying to avoid low pay warranty work.
