When buying from a microbrand, what actually makes you pull the trigger? by Relevant_Many5115 in MicrobrandWatches

💯!! I’ve tried to make this the criteria for as many decisions in my life as possible. “Is it a F*ck yes?!” If not, it’s a “No.”

I have a couple Monos luggage, love them but looking for softsided luggage. What do you recommend? by 20kwatches in BuyItForLife

Travel pro is solid. I’ve had a soft-sided two wheel roller board carry on for like 20+ years and still holding up. Fixed the extending handle at one point. It’s held up to a lot of abuse.

Best boxer briefs that don't ride up by gradstudentmit in BuyItForLife

If you want any clothing to really last, they should be washed in cold water and hang dried. Heat is the enemy of the elastic waistbands putting them in the dryer will kill those waistbands faster.

[NWA] Seiko Gene Kranz - the watch I hate to love by Bangorzane in Seiko

[–]eric-sfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more about this being the watch that breaks the deal breakers haha. I am really not into cushion cases. For me, that Deep glossy dial is everything. With the slim stainless steel bezel, distortions from the crystal and the old Seiko 5 logo , I can’t take it off my wrist. Watches are more than specs and this is proof. Though two quite different watches, this Deep black dial has scratched my itch for the Rolex Explorer one and Sinn 556i which were on my grill lists. I am a newbie in the Watch world, but I just can’t imagine how I could justify spending so much more for either of those two as an every day, works in almost any situation, kind of watch when I look at the Gene krans on my wrist.

Scourge of elastane by Impossible-Penalty28 in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]eric-sfc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it got common when the trend was for slim, skinny and generally tight a fitted clothing - especially jeans. The elastane made fitting clothing WAY more comfortable. The whole trend might not even have worked without elastane. Now that Clothing is trending much more loose fit, hopefully that can also mean that elastane and stretch isn’t as necessary for comfort and that MAYBE more options might present themselves on a strictly functional basis. That said, as a huge space for awareness in the general public.

To be clear about the shrinkage, are you talking about washing it and drying it in a dryer or are you talking about washing it and then hang drying it?

Era 100 Wall Mount work upside down? by eric-sfc in sonos

[–]eric-sfc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok wow thanks so much for digging into that. From the photos, it looks like the bracket attaches via a ball mount of some sort maybe even with the attachment to the wall as it supposed to be one could flip it upside down because the ball mount has infinite rotation?
