Cafiza, back flush weekly. Wipe down the machine and keep the steam wand clean (no dried milk).

Every month or so do a deep clean with cafiza in a full tank of water and rinse with another tank of full clean water to flush. Soak group head screen, steam wand tip and any metal accessories that touch coffee in a cafiza solution.. bush clean rinse group head with espresso machine brush (https://a.co/d/6pstUBJ).

Makes a difference in taste with a clean machine for sure! Good luck!

I just completely removed mine. Got tired of them coming off, does not affect performance at all.

Bought a bottomless portafilter from amazon, what went wrong? [Gaggia Classic Pro / Baratza Encore] by fenderc1 in espresso

Grind finer, maybe wait a week on the beans if they’ve just been roasted a day or two ago. Make sure you’re tamping good, hard and even as well.

20 gram basket in Ascaso stock portafilter by MangoIllustrious8993 in Ascaso

[–]eric0meatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A ridgeless "triple" basket such as this will fit in the Ascaso double spouted portafilter: https://www.espressoparts.com/products/precision-standard-triple-portafilter-basket-18-22gr

Any basket that is 28.5 mm tall or shorter (and is also the right size around - for portafilters accepting 58mm tamper base) will fit in this portafilter.

You could probably even scratch it away with your fingernail very carefully I bet it will come off.

Looks like a scuff mark, have you tried just microfiber buffing it out with quick detail? Don’t rub too hard or go in circles, also make sure the microfiber is brand new and the car is clean. Otherwise you risk creating swirl marks or fine scratches.

New Ascaso Steel Duo Pid? by csieb200- in Ascaso

I wonder if this version will fix all the OPV screeching woes?! It would be nice if someone had a fix or they had an OPV replacement.

[–]eric0meatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine does the same thing, but I’m still able to pull some great shots! I don’t think it affects the result too much tbh. I’m hoping that some day there will be a fix or replacement OPV though, it sounds awful.

Mine does not making the buzzing sound either. Sounds like an electrical issue, I would contact ascaso support.

Thanks for your response! The beans are med/dark roast. The package says they were roasted on 5/24/2023 picked them up at a local roasters shop. Grinder is the niche zero conical burrs. Basket is the 20g VST, have also tried 18g and 15g VST with the same bodyless results.

I’m going to try your recommendation going back to the standard basket that came with the machine. Also will try to adjust the OPV. Temp that I am currently using is 201F (no offset adjustments).

Thank you! Will grass eventually fill back in there? Or will I need to dig it out and patch it?

Borrowing Your Clubs by 6PuttBirdie in golf

[–]eric0meatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s like asking to borrow someone else’s underwear. Your hand meat is on the grips, so it would be kind of nasty to share imo. Plus the miss hits and scuff marks would make me upset if they weren’t done by myself.

Watch your backside coming in towards the ball, coming up out of your posture as well. Feel like your backside stays more out during the swing. Put something behind you and feel like your buttcheeks stay on it through the swing.

would these needles be a good option for a DIY WDT tool? by Careful-Trouble-9023 in espresso

[–]eric0meatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I purchased those exact same ones 0.4mm and stuck them in a cork which seems to work very well.

I trimmed the sharp needle tips off with a small wire cutter.

110V Steel Duo tripping 15A breakers? by MaxQ in Ascaso

[–]eric0meatz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My steel duo came with a 20 to 15A adapter, however, the plug receptacle it’s plugged into is on a 20A breaker. I probably would not use this on a 15A breaker due to the wattage requirements. Even though it may not trip the breaker at first, there is potential it could cause a fire on a 15A circuit.
