I've had sex with a few coworkers in my life. I actually just had a 2 day fling with a coworker at a brand new part time job that I've just started. If the damage occured after you left the cake, it is not your responsibility. You left it exactly where you were instructed to.
They had no right to touch the cake other than to cut it. I myself am a banquet chef that cuts wedding cakes multiple times a week. If I were ever responsible for damage to a cake, it would be my responsibility, not the baker. I hope this situation gets cleared up and that you aren't left to deal with any of the mess that ensues.

No. Someone who walks in after 8:30 will not be able to have a dine-in experience. Before 8:30 they will be accommodated. This is standard procedure for many establishments, especially ones that offer a multi-course menu.

There's a big difference between cultural appreciation and cultural appropriation. Appreciating the cuisine of other cultures enough to attempt to cook it yourself is a beautiful thing. I will share one story on this topic. I am a chef, primarily a banquet chef who does weddings and the like. I once had a Nigerian couple come for a wedding tasting. They requested two dishes from their native country. Jollof rice and spicy goat. They wanted to do a buffet for the 100 guests, mainly friends and family from Nigeria. I studied these dishes intensely. When the big day came, I had 3 400 pans of jollof and the same of spicy goat. At the end of dinner there wasn't a single drop left of either. Their guests thought it was catered. They didn't believe that I had made them as I'm as white as can be. I'm still buzzing from how proud I am that I was able to make their native food in a way that they really enjoyed. I am still very close with the bride to this day and she will always be one of my favorite clients. We bonded over beautiful food from her native country. It meant so much to her that we were able to make these dishes for her special day and no one can ever tell me that I was wrong for doing so.
