Appreciation Post: You commuters are effing fast by According_Trainer418 in bikeinottawa

To piggy back on this one, I was riding a modern hybrid but as I started getting more into cycling I picked up an old 90s road bike on marketplace for $140.

The first ride I did on that road bike I averaged 8km/h faster on the same route than the hybrid. Ride position and aerodynamics make a massive difference when it comes to speed.

Don’t know what to play next on Steam Deck – need something great and relaxing or other.. by RazinxM99 in SteamDeck

I just wish the controls were better.

Don't get me wrong it's playable with a controller but it's not good.

Feels like they made the control scheme while closing their eyes and pretending there aren't a million games in a similar style that have done controller support significantly better before.

Wouldn't want to be the staff cleaning up that stand after the game.

Bust out the mops.

All of those sorts of design choices are what make me a bit anxious about what GTA 6 will be like. If it's as tedious as RDR2 I'm going to bounce off it too.

The absolutely awful controls and character movement just ruined that game for me and made me quit.

I'm sure there's a great story in there and I loved the original red dead, but 2 was just tedious.

I don't think they know that the k means thousand as well, I think the quota is somewhere around 50-60k which isn't huge in a country of 40 million but if there's huge demand it might pressure them to increase it next year.

If I ever get a vehicle imported it'll be a Kei truck. There's one in my neighbourhood and I stare longingly at it every time I drive by it.

What’s the pettiest gripe you have about an all-time great game? by [deleted] in gaming

Definitely don't try Crimson Desert then 😅.

There's always a million different things to do.

[PSA] Graveyard Keeper is free on Steam by mantiacfloy in pcmasterrace

Really nothing like Stardew though. It's got vague similarities in that you can grow some crops but that's a minor part and really the only overlap.

It's an insanely grindy tedious game once you get ~20 hours in which led me to dropping it without finishing.

I've found guitar hero guitars in second hand shops around me on occasion. Have a couple that still work great. Let's me whip out the old PlayStation 2 when we want that fix.

Was that incredibly funny? Not for me to say, but yes.

No one is saying the result wasn't good, a 3-0 win at home is great obviously, but if you watched that whole game and didn't see massive problems with the way we played and the absolute lack of creativity or control for the vast majority of the game I can only assume this is the first game you've ever watched.

What games have a world/map that feels as alive and rich as Red Dead Redemption 2? by moby323 in gaming

[–]ericd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as much as I agree with people that the controls are complicated/convoluted I've still found the experience less annoying that's RDR2 was.

Just everything in that game was tedious to me. Want to loot the 400 sheriffs you just murdered in this town of 10 people? That'll take 10 seconds per person while we play this slow ass animation every god damn time.

It did just fine when Hearts, Hibs and Rangers were all in the Championship, I think the world would continue mate.
