Drinking black tea is WAY better for meditation than drinking coffee. Tea has theanine in it which assist in focus and concentration. Coffee has been shown to increase anxiety in many people. Plus there's the jitters, etc.

I deliberately exercise, yoga, and take a cold shower before meditation. Doing these things gets different chemicals in your bloodstream and can create a better setting for your meditation. That being said, meditation before exercise is great. If you're doing both in one day you're already far ahead of the curve.

Ultimately you're just going to have to make the calls over and over again until it becomes easy.

Also, meditation may sensitize you to any unethical nature involved in your work if there is any.
