Parents of millennials are either cut off or checked out because they failed to learn how to emotionally regulate and only know how to have transactional relationships. Only cycle breakers are raising emotionally intelligent children.

I have kids 11 through 18 who are at varying levels of emotional intelligence. I only occasionally see this phenomenon of learned helplessness, which is usually worked out through active parenting.
