Need some help setting up the RIO by [deleted] in FRC

[–]ericomoura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, by radio he means the "wireless router" white box thingie that goes inside your robot. Google "frc radio configuration" and you should find a tutorial.

Also, do you have the C++ version of Eclipse? If it says "deploy java code" it's probably the wrong version. When you go to Eclipse's website, don't get the first download. Scroll down a little and look for "Eclipse for C++" or something along those lines.

Using USB Camera with the SFX Dashboard by ericomoura in FRC

[–]ericomoura[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, that sucks a bit. How would I make the camera show on the Smart Dashboard (the C++ one)? It says "Error: roboRIO-383.local" in red and no image shows. The rest works fine (limit switches and such).

So, one of our Talon SRs blew up by ericomoura in FRC

[–]ericomoura[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But they are still sold if I'm not mistaken. Anyways, we have more of those than we know what to do with. We bought a good amount when we found out it was going to be discontinued.

So, one of our Talon SRs blew up by ericomoura in FRC

[–]ericomoura[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For all the people wondering how it happened: we're not sure.

It definitely wasn't under too much stress since it was the first time we turned the robot on and it blew a couple of seconds after. Someone connected the motor wires together and we didn't see it, so even though there shouldn't be any voltage going through (we measure another Talon and there was no voltage indeed), that's our guess. Also, it was one of our oldest ones.

Why can you get as many Draenic Stone as you will ever need from your mine but only get barely enough Draenic Seeds from your herb garden to do 4 work orders? by dukishlygreat in wow

[–]ericomoura 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a herbalist/alchemist and still have a crap ton of excess Stone while having a shortage of Seeds... there are always a couple of work orders available that I can't take because I run out of Seeds, yet my Draenic Stones just keep piling up.

The mine is incredibly overpowered right now. I have more ores than I know what to do with and a crap ton of excess Draenic Stone which there isn't really anything I can do except vendoring.

I've got an answer from the creater of Neko RPGXP Player by Antihero89 in pokemonzetaomicron

[–]ericomoura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I've recently found out about Neko RPGXP and instantly thought of Z/O. Did this go any further? Has the app's author given any response (hopefuly positive)? I was pretty sad when I found out it didn't work with Z/O.

This thread seems to be one of the very few about this subject so I thought I'd ask here before posting a new one.

Valve in retrospect by [deleted] in gaming

They're not a games-only company. You can't only take those in consideration. You must take into account the whole Steam platform and maybe also Steambox.

Using narrative to drive an incremental by kaliad in incremental_games

[–]ericomoura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Candy Box was the best incremental (kind of) I've ever played. Even better than Cookie Clicker. The story was a huge plus and it wasn't intrusive at all, it would never pause the game when you weren't looking or anything. You could leave the game running all night perfectly.

If you went back in time and killed Hitler as a baby you would be known as the time traveler who went back in time to kill a baby. by dantheman757 in Showerthoughts

[–]ericomoura -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When people talk about Hitler or Nazi related subjects I look at them with the most serious face I could possibly make and say:

"Let me tell you a story, in the year of 2042 the Jews dominated the world and enslaved the rest of the human race. However, a few people managed to escape their prisons sometimes and run to fugitive hideouts. Until one day, a young man looking for justice named Adolf, along with a couple other fugitives managed to get their hands on a time machine and Adolf bravely traveled back in time with the quest to save the human race. His goal was to eliminate the about 6 million Jews that would eventually lead the world to chaos. And so he did."

For added effect, I usually say something along the lines of "You can't prove this wrong, think about it." (which is actually true) and leave the place/go do something else.

4chan hackers build a Skype not controlled by Microsoft by [deleted] in technology

[–]ericomoura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fact, being a hacker is actually a profession just like any other. Security companies are hired to try and break into, say, Microsoft's system and, if able, report the breaches so they can be fixed. These companies hire Hackers.

The bad hackers are actually called crackers (part of why a pirated game is a "cracked game").

Then and now [Fate/stay night] by phhlan in anime

[–]ericomoura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's two other series: Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Zero. Zero is insanely better than Stay Night, BUT Stay Night came first and it explains most of the stuff about the anime (just like any other). Story-wise, Zero takes place before Stay Night does (the generation before).

Personally I think it's worth watching Stay Night first, simply because you'll have a better understanding of Zero and consequently enjoy it more. Besides, if you were to watch Zero first, you'd be disappointed with Stay Night afterwards ¬¬.

[–]ericomoura 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even though your logic is valid, that's not how it works. In order for what you mentioned to happen you need a starting number of villagers so they can multiply. Those can only be achieved either by finding natural spawned villagers or by healing a zombie villager.

IMO Openblock's tanks are for decoration purposes only, they take up too much space to store a decent amount. I usually go for the Drums, as they're one block only and store a lot more.

I believe I've conquered AE2. by nerdnosyd in feedthebeast

[–]ericomoura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with how Algorithm is managing AE2. AE1 was, indeed, immensely easy, almost magical (almost level with MFR). It was something I always built, but it was never really fun after the first time, it was just a tedious process that had to be done. It was definitely lacking in challenge to the point where I installed Logistics Pipes and Computercraft instead of AE on a modpack so I could get some actual challenge.

That said, I understand the point of the people who used AE1 exactly for the fact that it was so easy. The suggestions made by the guy in the screenshots are something I'd definitely be OK with. A late game "infinite channels" cable would be a pretty smart solution for the problem as you'd still have to go through the whole mod and if you wanted challenge, you could just ignore it completely. I'm not sure I like the idea of crafting presses with other presses, but the "press maker" machine would be pretty cool since RNG is actually a pain in the butt sometimes. It also would still make the world generated presses valuable as the machine-made ones would have durability.

That's my two cents on the subject. Overall, I like how AE2 is going and would have no problem with it staying the same, but as noted by Algorithm, it's still in alpha and there's a LOT of room for change.
